Any news about what he plans on doing? i.e. another "short term" contract in Europe?
Ex-Nashville, current Tampa Bay goalie Anders Lindbäck, was interviewed after yesterday's first game in Ilves jersey. Ilves lost 3 -2 in OT and Lindbäck made 38/41 saves. In his interview he said that one of the main reasons he wanted to play in SM-liiga was that SM-liiga is the most NHL-like in Europe in terms of style of play. The game is much more straightforward and faster than in the Swedish Elitserien. At least according to Lindbäck.
Maybe this is one of the reasons Karlsson chose SM-liiga over Elitserien? Or then it's just because of Jarkko Ruutu.
