Thanks for the help.
I know you more or less got your answer, but I wanted to offer my take:

While you certainly could pick up from AC3 and more or less catch on (although the modern day story could be an issue) I don't know why you would want to. Picking up at AC2 or Brotherhood would be significantly cheaper and it's not like AC3 adds that dramatically much (compared to Brotherhood/Revelations at least) from the point of view of someone who hasn't played any of them yet. You could probably get AC2+Brotherhood+Revelations for the same price as just 3, and if you're not playing online (did they make that any better in Revelations? Great concept, poor execution in Brotherhood) I don't see the benefit in playing the newest one right now.

I absolutely loved the idea of HUT when it came out, but it has always frustrated me beyond belief that I have given up on it completely now.

Best recommendation I can give: buy contracts from the trading section rather than buying a bronze pack for contracts. Spending 600 pucks in the trading section can get you more contracts per puck, since you should be able to find single-digit game contracts for the minimum at any given time.

Me personally, I would shop around the cheapest 20-25 game contracts. They have about 3x as many games as the single digit ones, but don't cost 3x more.
Well, yeah. Seems like most people just buy their way to fortuness in HUT. But I can't help it, I do enjoy kicking their ass, while only using mid 70's players.

I saved up for another 5000 pucks to spend on a goldpack. Got nothing. Most people recommend to go grazy in the trading section, but you can't really go crazy in there with 200 pucks and players who, if you are lucky, go for 150-200 pucks. Most valuable player I got is Galchenyuk, but Ive been trying to sell/trade him for lower amount of pucks than anyone else, but no one really wants him.

I got 48 players in total. Mostly 60-70-ovr, but my lines are pretty much filled up with lower 80's. The problem is that their value is about 0.

So, I'm back in Espoo. Finished my studies three years early. Oops.

Anyway, is there still room in the GM Connected league or EASHL team if I go and crab myself a PS3 copy of NHL 13 tomorrow (Tuesday)?

You would have to ask the respective thread pertaining to the GM Connected League of either XBox or PS3.

I am not the one who formed the Xbox GM Connected League, but there was only like 10 (maybe) of us who were signed up. And the games were grouped together in bunches of around 8 mostly vs. CU.

I can't speak for everyone or the Comish. but having more would be more enjoyable, and if there was a little bit more feedback regarding games and scheduling what-not.

I'm not sure that very many people even do the GM Connected League much. We've got a fair number of GMs in it but I don't think many people actually play it. I know I don't. An EASHL team like in 12 is probably doable though.

How does the EASHL differ compared to GM Connected League?

And the saga of messed up names in Madden drafts continues.

Tai-Ler Johnson
Mustafa Spain(came out of the draft 85 overall. Awesome pick)
Algrenon Cottonpick (what the ****)

Other team wonder picks:

Rashiad Bread
JonTerrius Titarius
Sammy Seashrunk
Naje Amirii
Dondre Museses
Otha Hatchie
Tom Hardy (A big white tight end...hmmmm. Tempted to trade for him and call him Bane)
Aaron Blastinggame (Seriously? Blasting game? wtf EA)
Dell Macintosh (Srs computer war going here)
Rico Rose. Sounds like a male pornstar name
Systeek Wooten
Al Alleyne

I'd say a good half of these guys were either chosen by the Cardinals or Cowboys. Must be something in the water down there.

I don't have Borderlands 2 yet, but I am rather amused by the transmission of the bug. In Borderlands they had a trophy called "And they'll tell two friends" which was earned by playing with a Gearbox employee or someone who had the trophy.

The temptation won so I finally bought NHL 13. Just got to format my laptop and re-install Windows 7 so I can give it to my mom and then I have the evening free.

I'm actually quite excited to see what it's like.

Sometimes Action Button is a fun read. Tim Rogers is....interesting. But that seems like a parody of their own style.

The people on that site HATE a lot of the RPG number inflation, Zelda-like puzzles (obtain item, use item to open door, put it away forever), and of course vapid action games.

There's a good point somewhere in there though about games being either quickly good/bad or games having a more specific purpose. The inclusion of alchemy or weapon building in a lot of RPG's, the far too open-ended structure of say Skyrim, Final Fantasy needing 20 hours to warm up (in Tim's review, he calls the first half of the game the "tutorial" )

Apparently the new Halo iOS game is called "Halo 4: King of the Hill Fueled by Mountain Dew" and in order to play it, you have to scan the UPC from either a bag of Doritos or bottle of Mountain Dew. Also, when playing you battle at 7-11.

I have no words.

Ah, corporate tie-ins.

I only really liked the first Halo. Never played the second. Bored with Halo 3 after 20 minutes.

I have no problem with tasteful corporate tie ins, and think they could do incredible things for the industry. NHL's advertising along the boards is a great example. There's a few action racer type games that have billboards advertising real products. That would be fine if they could add some more variety. Games that have sponsored tournaments (NHL 13 Battle for the Cup, brought to you by Verizon) are just fine as well. But a game like that that takes place in a 7-11? That's crossing some lines.

But I'm more intrigued than offended by the idea of "scan a Doritos or Mountain Dew UPC to play" aspect. I believe those aren't serialized so you can just scan the same one over and over again, but I could see potential for system crossover there. We already have a wealth of "free to play" games where people pay to speed up time. We also have a thousand different snack/beverage promotions where buying pop gets you points or unlocks or some other "special" game or real life merchandise. Why not have those free to play games do this? That way they can tell their customers they're actually getting something physical with the money they're paying to speed things up. Zynga is in dire straits, they should jump at the opportunity.

Halo got better each installment (obviously, since 2 went from Xbox to Xbox 360 when 3 came out). Never played ODST or Reach but Reach multiplayer was fine.

Well, I couldn't be bothered to find the right one. Sorry.

NHL 13 looks good so far, even if the menus seemed a bit laggy and heavy for some reason. I quite like the new skating physics and I like the fact that they've finally rebuilt the Be A GM - at least partially.

One flaw though: Where the heck is Brodin?

And many other prospects.

They didn't even bother updating the CHL roster either. That's EA for ya.

EA keep saying those missing players need to play at least 1 game with their teams but hey, it's November (almost for some) and EA found a new reason that is untrue!
