Any player movement really. Unless it's a retirement out of left field, A.K.A Whitney

Random guess: We acquire Keith Yandel for 1st and a prospect grab bag.

Lu would be the worst thing possible cap wise for the Oilers. Theyll need space in 5 years.

If im guesing Id say coming in would be one of:

Some sort of defenseman like Yandle, Bouwmeester. Not a #1 but a good second pairing guy

Or some sort of 2nd line center with size

Leaving might be a variation of Gagner, Hemsky, MPS, Whitney, 1st round pick

well a trade could be agreed to but can't be processed until the CBA is signed. It could be as good as a done deal.

The buyout/UFA signing would be a far cry from a sure thing.

I've heard that song and dance many times before, but what's from stopping the other GM from continuing to try get a better package? It's not like the CBA is going to be signed in a week or something.

Our GM not being willing to give more. A trade is still way more certain than a buyout that might not even be allowed/signing a UFA who wants to play in Florida.

No one would say "wow" to that at all.

Whitney retiring is my money. The guy complained about how a long layoff hurt him when he came back last year, not just because of his foot, but his conditioning as a whole. Seems strange that a guy who just recently experienced that wouldn't be playing hockey some where right now.

No, it is not legitimate at all. It is pure BS on your part.

I doubt it is yakupov to the nyi for any of their kids. There is way a blockbuster deal could be kept under wraps for up to 10 to 12 months

I said, tweet Stauffer. He won't deny this. Oil Country, don't believe it all you want, this is what's going down. Let's be real here, does any other speculation on this board really give you the "wow" factor? Come on people, let's act like grown adults.

To be honest, I wouldn't mind Hamonic + 1st.

That 1st could very well end up being Seth Jones, Alex Barkov or Nathan MacKinnon.

As sick as the lineup looks with Yakupov in it, it looks sicker with Hamonic + MacKinnon, Barkov or Jones in it.

I'd like that

Whatever this wow move is under no circumstances should any of our untradeable players be traded

If it's a player personnel move as in a trade, then I think it could be Luongo for Hemsky + pick or something along those lines. I can see the interest from Edmonton if Vancouver feels they've run into a brick wall trying to work something out with Toronto.

If it's a front office move, then perhaps it has something to do with Gretzky being brought back into the organization in some kind of official role.

Just as likely -- Bob's trying to pump up some ratings in a pretty bland media cycle.
