We've got some power outages in part of Toronto but I don't think it's from Sandy, it's the other storm we're dealing with. It was supposed to be somewhat mild today but it got really cold and then we'll be dealing with Sandy later.

The most annoying part of this storm as has been the wind coming in from NNE. The corner of my apartment building faces...NNE. This wind has been like someone flicking me in the forehead for almost 24 hours. The sound of howling wind is infuriating to me. Luckily as the eye passes under Philly the wind will shift with it. Overnight the wind will switch to to just East, then SSE, and finally South. Hopefully by tomorrow afternoon I won't have to deal with it at all and the people on the other side of the building can deal with this for awhile.
Oh, and somehow I still have power. I am counting this as a minor miracle.

Sandy and that storm are colliding. There are blizzard warnings in West Virginia

I don't think we are expecting snow but I went from rain gear (and it didn't rain) this morning to winter gear at noon.

We actually get surfers over here a few times during spring/summer but the waves aren't that high.

I love how the cars are just sitting there watching.
Unless the rain wraps around, the rain is done here. Now we will have to deal with the winds

How much more do you have to tip when they deliver during a hurricane?

the website just says its close for the morning.
Only closed for Tues morning, for now; both rail and bus. All governments are closed, most of the county level transit services are closed as well.
Parts of Huntington are being evacuated for flooding. Georgetown is expected to see 10 feet of flooding.
Edit: Arlington seems to be doing the worst when it comes to keeping power
