Mort reported that #Packers GM Ted Thompson has put together "significant packages" in attempts to trade for Steven Jackson in the past.
well the first time when mcgahee dropped the first down pass, the broncos were driving down the field to pull within a fieldgoal.
Granted, its not like that would have guaranteed victory, but the way the broncos were playing in the 4th quarter, we probably woulda ended up with a similar situation to when bellicheck went for it on 4th against the colts in his own territory because he knew manning was in the zone and it wouldn't matter if he had to go 25 yards or 70, he was going to score.
Also, apparently, manning just had a 4 games stretch that has never before been matched: 75.4%completion percentage, 1289 yds, 12 TD, 1 INT, and a 127.9 QB rating. Obviously, people have thrown for more yards or tds in a 4 game stretch before, and possibly even both, but the ridiculous 75% completion percentage and only 1int to go along with it is pretty amazing.
No thanks to paying Williams that much. If we are spending money, we are using it to lock Rodgers, Matthews, Raji, and Jennings up.
That would be mistake
No reason to invest big money in a WR who is about to turn 30 yrs old when you have Nelsen/James/Cobb. Would make more sense for Packers to invest in a longterm RB option then spend big $$$ on retaining a WR given there WR depth

ahmad bradshaw is the closest thing to a big name at rb on a super bowl team since thomas jones( i guess), or really just shaun alexander. it makes no sense to "invest" in the running back position, suitable rbs are everywhere. that said, it also doesn't make much sense to blow your load on a receiver when your 4th receiver is james jones/randall cobb. they can use that money for the defense, which isn't great and will be losing woodson in near future.
"I tell you what, I really like THIS GUY. THAT GUY is one of the best of his position in the NFL. He really plays hard and does _______ well"
Rise, repeat.
Very true, Gruden loves everyone from the teams QB to their strength and conditioning coach and everyone in between.
He was on Romos jock so hard during MNF that Romos wife got jealous, meanwhile Romo is out there throwing 5 picks but Gruden is still calling him and elite QB.
Good color commentators today are rare. Most are either the "I love everyone" Gruden types or the Dan Fouts, Tim McCarver, I will explain in in-depth detail and for 20 min the simplest aspects of the game that everyone already knows.
Swear to god it was 2-3 years ago and McCarver took 10 min to explain what each pitch a pitcher threw did, and not the pitcher on the mound but in general. A fastball is when a pitcher throws the ball as hard as he can hence the name fastball. I lose brain cells when he is talking ENOUGH!

Remember when JFG , Osgood , MAF and Niemi won cups and everyone said the day of needing a bigtime goalie to win cup was over
Well the last 2 cup winners have had elite G's
Just because NFL has gone a little bit without elite RB winning doesn't mean you dont need a RB
Packers have been looking for suitable RB for several years now ,, They won a SB because of MVP QB and #1 D (Which has fallen off since). If they had a better run game they wouldn't have to depend on Rodgers to win so much
