Still have power. I'm 10 miles west of Belmar. Wind is really bad now. Lost section of my fence but I was taking it down in the spring so don't really care.
Lost power in Babylon. A giant tree fell across the street and took out the power lines. Still would have power if the idiot neighbor would have cut the leaning thing down years ago. Another came down in the backyard 45 minutes later. Friggin nature.
I'm in Bellmore and for the middle of Long Island (just north of the Southern State), it's pretty bad. Blown transformers, my neighbor's house got crushed by a tree, a tree on our property came down. The whole neighborhood is a mess.
I'm just really concerned for people living south of Sunrise. The flooding is really bad.
My friend lives near Wantagh Park and his street was filled with water from the bay up to 2 feet when Irene hit last year. He caught a flounder in the street!
Im on the water south of Merrick in Massapequa. 3ft of water outside my house as we speak. Lost power at about 5 tonight, lots of power lines and trees down, fires, totaled cars, and debris. Spoke with friends who lost their whole first floor of there house.
There will be 1 more surge at around 9-10am tm, when high tide comes back, hope for the best.
Any updates on the Island Park area? I have some family out there that we haven't heard anything from for a few hours . Helpless feeling being on the West Coast with no ability to do anything
I sure hope everyone's ok. I'm sure LI got hit really hard. Where I am in Brooklyn, I just had a ton of wind. I'm about to go walk the neighborhood to see whats what. Best wishes to everyone and their families.

Be careful. People were killed at 8am at Ditmas and E. 18th. Trees still coming down.
Massive 70 foot tree fell last night in my backyard smashing onto ny neighbors shed. Transformers all over Merrick were blowing up all night long, really a fascinating sight to see. Merrick looks like a freaking bomb went off in the middle of town, it's nuts here. Pray everyone is safe!
CT's Governor sent the National Guard to Bridgeport to aid with the flooding. I'm almost sure the water reached Webster Bank Arena, I hope no damages occurred and it doesn't affect the Sound Tigers schedule.

Cheers,

I'm not terribly far from there. There were 2 trees that fell on my block, but on the block over there were a bunch of huge trees that ripped up the sidewalk. a few downed power lines too.
But my neighborhood was lucky. My friend lived out in Breezy Point & her house is one of the 90 that burned down. Really horrible stuff. Mother Nature don't **** around.
