I'm actually optimistic. Star Wars from others than George Lucas seems amazing to me.

I don't think people know how much official stories there are after Episode 6.

But I feel that the Jacen Solo -> Darth Cadeus storyline would be nice.

Nope.
Everything is canon in SW pretty much.
It all has to get approved by the hivemind before it is printed.

Ever since the Dark Knight came out in 2008 I think occasionally what a Christopher Nolan Star Wars movie would be like.

Given how much of the EU is utter trash this doesn't reassure me.

At some point it's best to say "enough." It is over. The end.
For me, Star Wars is three movies and a handful of books by Timothy Zahn, Aaron Allston, and Michael Stackpole (and a few others).

Agreed. I've hated Lucas for a while, but this was the straw that broke the camels back for me. Seriously, **** George Lucas.

Just get new writers and get a respectable director to make it. Make it more adult oriented and don't let George Lucas have any say.
Base it off Knights of the Old Republic, green light a trilogy off that one game, then I'm throwing my money at the screen.
For that matter, get a talented developer working on KOTOR 3.

The Han Solo trilogy (written by Ann C. Crispin) was pretty decent.

After the last three Star Wars movies, there is nothing Disney could do to ruin that franchise. It can only go up from here.

Can anyone care to explain why they think the last 3 movies were so bad? I enjoyed them just as much and maybe even more than Hope, Empire and Jedi. Special effects and light Sabre battles were a lot more epic.

This video is in 7 parts(this is part 1/7), but it's definitely worth watching. While they do attempt a lot of humor in this video he is spot on with many points. Especially how the plot makes no sense.

Agreed. I don't really have much interest about anything else. Mainly love the X Wing books. So good.

If they go the novel route, this could turn out to be pretty entertaining. The extended Star Wars universe has some very good characters and plot arcs that would translate well to film, imo.

lmao...I don't get some of you guys. This is great news imo; Lucas ruined his own franchise with the last three movies.
