I was thinking more of a team within 20 miles. I just hope that when it happens its not the Raiders. Like the Dodgers I don't think I have enough of a criminal record to be a fan.
Crap. Baseball is over, and now I have no other sports that interest me. I can't even force myself to watch the Lakers, because of the TV BS going on. At least the Giants won. A preemptive revenge for Cabrera probably winning the MVP.
I'm like the exact opposite. I couldn't care less about baseball. OTH, right now has loads of other sports I like. NCAA football, NCAA basketball starting soon, and NBA. I'm not even really missing hockey right now because early season isn't normally as intense as later. I usually start following it more after Jan (bowl season).

So they're talking about wind gusts from Sandy. 70+ MPH wind gusts. So they call them "hurricane-force wind gusts." That's just annoying. Hurricane is by definition 63+ MPH sustained winds. Gusts can be significantly higher. It's like comparing one car's highway MPG to another car's local MPG and saying "they're the same!"

Just wanted to let you guys know I saw Bob Murray at Slaters50/50 (anaheim hills) Friday night. I walked inside with my dad and Bob looked right at me, gave a half grin, leaned back and crossed his arms and nodded his head at me. At first I thought it was one of my friends dads who recognized me. Thirty seconds later I realized it was Bob and forgot that I was wearing my Kings shirt and that's what he noticed and smiled about.
He was sitting at the bar watching the Notre Dame/Sooner game around seven o'clock by himself. We sat six chairs over to his right and he looked at me several times. He seemed approachable and now looking back on it, I regret not shooting the **** with him about prospects or the Ducks.
He sat there for another 15 minutes after we sat down and left. No one that I saw approached him or recognized him.

Seems like most ex-NHL guys are. I go to school with the son of a former NHLer turned Ducks Scout, and once he learned from his son that I was a Ducks fan, he invited me over for dinner and offered me a Ducks rally towel.
So over the next decade, all 6 of the old Star Wars films will be shown in 3D, and we'll get 3 more new ones. They'll probably suck, but they could end up being decent to pretty good. Some of the Star Wars novels were pretty good, and they might be able to turn some of those into movies. I used to be a pretty big Star Wars fan, and I still enjoy re-watching them from time to time, so I'm sort of excited. It's not like they have a reputation to maintain, so it doesn't really matter if they make more, as it won't affect the legacy of the franchise.
Hopefully we're wrong and they end up being awesome!
Oh, and BTW, the woman producing these new SW films is Kathleen Kennedy, who also produced a **** load of other good movies like ET, The Indiana Jones films, etc.

they get spielberg to direct, and push the movie off onto one of their affiliates (like touchstone or buena vista) i will have high hopes. untill then, it doesn't matter if she produced et, gone with the wind or whatever. disney's studio has a history of editing down story / plot content to meet ratings and expectations of non violence and utopia, everyone lives / feel good endings.
