@Toucherandrich: Yo soy nutcracker. RT @jeffphowe: When asked what dance was, Gronkowski responded, "That little nutcracker dude that's guarding the house."
The Rams' secondary is about as bad as the Pats so we figured it would be an air game....but what i liked best about this game was the way they ran the ball. St Lo's run defense is pretty decent, and the Pats ran for 150.....with Ridley going for 127; almost 9 yards a carry. That and Brady managed to stay upright almost all day..... o-line, IMO, were the stars of that game.
The Rams got over 100 yards rushing but atleast 40 of them were with our reserve linemen, if we had a secondary we would be the best team in football on both sides of the ball.
If we find a way to get a legit corner and safty we would be scary good, I would trade up way high in the draft or spend every pick on the secondary.

No. I have no faith whatsoever in this teams ability to identify legit secondary talent.
Perhaps it's the rules in the NFL, but corners as a whole are so prone to missing, I'd rather not waste a high pick on one. The secondary absolutely needs to get better, but trading up to pick that position is not the way to do it IMO. Denard does looks decent though based on what we've seen from him so far.
On another note, since the Patriots are on a bye this week, let me pose this question. Atlanta is 7-0. Are they actually as good as their record indicates or have they just gotten lucky? All I hear is people talking about the Giants, Houston, Green Bay (really..?), and so on, but NEVER hear mention of ATL being legit contenders.
Personally I think they are a good football team, not 7-0 good, more like 5-2 good.

Bill can't draft a secondary for ****.
Wilhite, Wheatley, Dowling, Butler ring a bell? Add Chung to that list soon.

You put CHung on that list but not Merriwether? Chung has been decent. He's regressed a bit tis year, and the injuries are certainly a concern, but he's not a bad player at all.

Asante Samuel. Eugene Wilson. Devin McCourty. Brandon Meriweather. Ellis Hobbs (would be a starter right now if he stayed healthy).
Are any of those guys Revis or Reed? No way, but they are or were starting DBs in this league for most of their careers. Brandon Meriweather's biggest shortcoming is the space between his ears, which is why coach after coach will keep giving him shots.
Tavon Wilson has done nothing but show up and be counted. Way too early to write Chung off, too.

If the Jets do decide to trade Revis, they'll get a much better return then a 31 year old slot guy without a contract. He's going to go down with the best corners of all time. Green, Sanders, Bailey.

Oh I completely agree, but the Jets are a dumb franchise. I can see their thought process now "what better way to stick it to the Patriots than to get their all time leading receiver!!" Not to mention that team desperately needs offense.
It won't happen obviously, but the Jets are dumb enough to make it happen.

Very disfunctional organization. I hear they may be shopping Tebow now to Jacksonville. So they wound up giving up that third round pick for what? Punt team coverage?

That coverage sucked on Sunday. The report was shot down, but part of me wonders if Tebow's people are pushing for him to end up in Jacksonville. This Jets thing has done nothing but harm his image, which, after all, is far more valuable than his football abilities.
And well below average coverage skills. He has a knack for strips, that's about it.
Can someone explain to me why Belichick has all of the DBs face-guarding? They never turn to face the ball any more - was there a rule change on this? Or does Bill just believe in überconservative secondary play in this pass-happy league?
