Didn't know that. Good for him, he seemed like the type that would get into coaching.

Now back to the thread...Chris Kelley isn't overly physical, but he kills PKs, is good at the dot and doesn't mind going into dirty areas. Not quite sure what I would want in return, but it wouldn't be as much as Ryan Murphy (You know, unless you would be willing to do that ).

Except for one thing, he's not a centre.

He's a bit of a weird one in that he generally plays wing after the faceoff, but he takes a lot of faceoffs because he's very good at them. Last year he spent most of his time playing wing for either Benn or Ribeiro, but since both suck at faceoffs Ott would take the draws for them.

Yeah, if you want Jim Slater, I just want Skinner going the other way

Would come cheap though.
Tried that experiment before. The way he reportedly was a locker room cancer and pouted his way out of town I think most Canes fans would rather throw a 19 year old Victor Rask out there if Welsh didn't work out.

It's Kopitar-Richards-Stoll-Fraser for the Kings. Carter plays 2nd line wing on Richards line.

The only one of them that could really replace Ott's probable role is Girgensons anyway, so Grigorenko making the team wouldn't really matter. Plus Ott can also play the wings, brings a ton of grit, and will likely be given a huge role on Buffalo's PK regardless of who else is on the roster.
All of that, plus Tim Gleason is in Carolina. I'm not going to say the whole story, but you can look up what I'm talking a out. They used to be best friends until Gleason did something.

Steckel sounds like a good fit. Toronto is stacked with bottem line centremen and could use the roster spot free.

Columbus has an abundance of grit plus ice time for johansen and anisimov and brassard would be welcomed neither is a fourth line player.

Mcbain isthe RH shot to replace aucoin who doesent have much gas left and Tim Erixson would probually still be a 7th D on columbus if he is even ready

Columbus is trying to put togtehr a young mobile team and Carolina want to contend now !

Connolly, good defensively can chip in offensively, not gritty but he does block alot of shots surprisingly.

Steckel is probably the best bet. Or wait until next off-season and sign Boyd Gordon, who I so desperately wish was on the Ducks. Great player.

Connolly would be a good fit. He gets a lot of flake and some of it rightfully deserved but the biggest problem is he's misslotted in Toronto. If he was suddenly playing 15:00 minutes instead of 17:00 minutes a night and had a simplified role he'd look a lot better. Same as Stoll suddenly went from a bum 2nd liner to a great 3rd line center because Richards arrived.

Steckel is a 4th liner whose a faceoff specialist who sucks at every other aspect of the game.
