He had a good start with Sibir and then it was over and he is struggling ever since. He's had 3 assists in his last 6 games and is -2 in them. Easily a top 10 forward?

Yakupov is a better player now and I don't consider him top 10 easily.

I think there are no reasons, just prejudice.

Well, to be honest, Finland isn't that important. Getting a successful franchise in Germany for example would be a lot more important achievement. Or making that Milan project to work.

Finally a win by Lev Prague again. Hope the team gets a bit of self-confidence out of it.

PS: I also see that the Finnish-Russian relations should be a problem for a KHL franchise there because of lack of interest by Fins. But I don't think Finland has good relations with any country in the world so what?!

Are you implying we gotta get rid of Finland?

with all that Finns really like hockey and the proximity of the border will bring Russian fans who will spend money: between hatred and money Europeans usually pick the money.

another good interview with Maurice lol, seems they are having translator issues, I would like to know how much of what he says accurately comes out of the translater. He talks about the progression of the KHL becoming a more physical league soon requiring moe tough guys..

That's not a translator, that is Metallurg's assistant coach Vorobyev.

Agreed, but I hope these can be achieved without throwing too much Russian money into these projects. These countries should sustain KHL franchises without Russian financial help.

But Finland is important for the KHL because there are so many Finnish players and coaches in the KHL. Without Finnish players and coaches the KHL would be a worse product.

But they are already here. And not only Fins. Top sm liga scorers are going to KHL or NHL as well. So why bother?

Yes, as long as best non-NHL Finns are interested in playing in the KHL it is good for the league.

I dont think Finland has any hatred toward Russia, or is politized agaisnt it. Its just that we barely support our own league, so we probably woulnd support a KHL team, unless they merge Jokerit and Hifk and add that to KHL, which will never happen. Just like we woulnd support a SEL expansion.

On another note, how is Kuparinen doing in Omsk ? I am still sad about losing him.

Based on this and this threads they are:
1. Kovalchuk - 1.6 PPG
2. Malkin - 1.59
3. Mozyakin - 1.37
4. Tarasenko - 1.33
5. Radulov - 1.32
6. Datsyuk - 1.21
7. Semin - 1.20
8. Makarov - 1.14
9. Varnakov - 1.10
10. Popov - 1.13
11. Yakupov - 1.08
12. Kuznetsov - 1.05
13. Lehtera - 1.04
14-18. Ovechkin, Zherdev, Thornberg, Vorachek, Kostitsyn - 1.00
