What about him? Do a search on his name, you'll find a bunch of threads dedicated to the kid. Not really worth it to pay attention to him in this one anymore.

How about Jarko Aalto? (Check Spelling) I had those 3 at a tournament in Philly last summer. They were all very strong players. They all brought a different skill set to the table, and made a very strong forward line.

Jarkko Aalto. Plays on Jokerit C-Jr team as an underager, 5'9"/154lbs and 8+2=10 on 10GP. Haven't seen him play as I don't really follow jr level hockey but maybe someone else has more info. You can also follow his progress at their website, where they have a schedule as a scoresheet links (first from left, under "Onro" label).

-99 born Jokerit forwards Sami Moilanen and Linus Nyman are making mockery out of C2-nuorten valtakunnallinen sarja. 13 points in 4 games. Just sayin'.

Not really a top prospect but Santeri Saari (2013 draft) will make his SM-liiga debut tonight with Jokerit. With Väänänen, Eronen, Nordlund and Lindbohm out, their defence will have their hands full with the league leader Kärpät.

The first 96-born player who plays in FEL? I would also like to hear about this guy.

Yep, and also a guy who's been going totally under the radar thus far. He's close to ppg in jr.A and that's quite impressive for a lateborn 96.

I liked what what I saw when Rantanen played in Pori against juniors.

He somewhat reminds me about Joel Armia in a sense that player has pretty good size (178 cm is definately old information, closer to 185 cm nowadays) but the skating is just horrible, and also it feels that the player has so much more to offer in the future years. I like what he can be, not what he is now.

Rantanen was really good passer when I saw him for the last time and I also thought that he is pretty smart. Shot seems to be fairly good also and what I can recall, stickhandling was okay too.

Checking and defending weren't that good probably mostly of poor skating. I also think that when you are bigger than most of other players, player should be more physical.

I saw at Jatkoaika that Aleksi Saarela has played 6 games with Lukko A-juniors, 3+3 stats. Julius Nättinen also, 7 games, 1+4. Jesse Puljujärvi has 19+10 in 23 games for Kärpät B-juniors.

Aleksi Saarela was called up to train with Lukko's SM-Liiga team on Tuesday. According to him it was just a a one time thing and the didn't talk about anything further.

What do you think about our 2015 draft potential? We have at least 3 very talented forwards: Julius Nättinen, Aleksi Saarela and Mikko Rantanen. Rantanen has already played a few games in FEL and he is a late 96-borner. I've came to a conclusion this group is nearly as potential as 2013.

From the looks of it 2015 could develop into an above average draft for Finland, but it seems to be difficult to predict these. I wonder whether Rantanen playing in SM-liiga tells more about the situation that TPS is in than anything else. Have to check some games from the WU-17 Hockey Challenge, and see how Rantanen and the others perform against the top guys in their age group. This tournament will tell a lot about Kapanen as well, I'm not 100% sold on him yet either. "Watch the 2013 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge live and free on FASTHockey."

As for 2013 draft, Barkov and Ristolainen are very good NHL prospects. Lehkonen is close to that, but as a small, lightweight player he has more to prove. My current feeling is that he's slightly closer to 2nd round than 1st round, have to see how it goes. After these three the 2013 draft is looking bad for Finland, at least from my point of view. My expectations were way too high before the season started.

Ikonen is talented, but in reality he's like ~5'7'' tall, hard to see him developing into a NHL player. Antonen has a bit of offensive talent, but he's soft and thus far hasn’t played like a winning player. Salminen has some nice qualities, but skating and puck skills are questionable, NHL upside seems very limited (=4th line). Aaltonen is a nice multipurpose forward, but developing into a NHL player seems like a big uphill battle, size is a big issue for him as well. Number 8, 9 and 10 on Central Scouting's list are Mustonen, Haapala and Kinnunen, none of them are NHL prospects. Saros is likely too small for a modern NHL goalie. Husso just isn't stopping the puck consistently, hard for me to say whether the problem is more with focus, reading the play or just lack of talent. Hopefully he improves for the 2nd half of the season. In addition to the ones mentioned above, there are a few fairly interesting prospects for 2013, but at this point it’s hard to say whether they actually have a proper chance of getting drafted.
