Downloaded Chrome 25 on the Canary channel, seems to be a good bit quicker.

Amazing how reliant I am now on Chrome with it's far better add-ons than Firefox.

The Corellian Trilogy is good... Hand of Thrawn, "I, Jedi", but you really need to read the first several X-Wing books to get to know Corran Horn first for that one... and then I would say New Jedi Order if you enjoy VERY long story arcs, and Legacy of the Force is really good as well.

I would also advise you to get the Darth Bane novels. The first two are very good, and the third one is very high on my to-read list. Also "Dark Lord" is good.

The only good novel as far as Clone Wars era goes is Shatterpoint, the rest of them are all blah.

And I have not yet read the current Fate of the Jedi arc, but considering its written mostly by the same authors who wrote Legacy, I'm looking forward to it.

And if Episode 7 completely deletes the existing EU, I'm just going to reject Episode 7 in my own personal canon, the same way I already reject a lot of minor details that have changed over the years.
Well I didn't have time to say it this morning before leaving for work, but the same place I read that, I also read that the rumors are that the writers are looking at the entire EU and will more than likely pick and choose what they want and take that and expand/contract some things.

I could see something like the Jacen arc where he falls to the dark side, maybe then Thrawn shows up as his second in command or something. Pick and choose the best parts.

But who knows, all of this is speculation. Nothing has been officially said except that they're making it and are looking at bringing in writers now.

Just thought of two awesome costume ideas that I can't use because all the costume parties were last weekend. Crap.

And now this is Karen Gillan's last season of Dr. Who! Dammit.

You could always go as the 11th doctor following the events in Manhattan...

Surrounded in what way?

General proximity? Or parking lot brawl?

On a different note, this reminded me I didn't mention that I met Dan's girlfriend last Saturday.

(And yes we were surrounded by St. Thomas co-eds.)

Sad day on Monday. Seeing as the weather has been consistently cool, and looks to be so for the coming future... meaning salty roads are not far away, I got the Shelby ready for winter and parked it.

Father John Misty was ****ing glorious tonight. What a concert. His stage banter is the best that I've ever heard. Mostly regaling the audience with his acid trip stories. One that stood out was he was in Wisconsin at a restaurant. He was still hungover from drinking whiskey the night before (and dropping acid), and the place was playing Christian Rock music and the waitress asked "Would you like a slice of bread?" Ha ha. Picture that last part said by a man intimidating a old woman.

Where'd you guys go?

I've only meandered out to the near-college restaurants once so far, but holy crap I am surprised my girlfriend didn't poke my eyes out.

You know, that page gave me a slight glimmer of hope. If Disney were to release the original 1970s-1980s versions of the original trilogy on DVD, as fans have been BEGGING for for years, it would go a LONG way to making me see this in a positive light.

The problem is that Thrawn would not show up simply because he's gone dark. The reason Thrawn got involved with ol' Palps to begin with was:
Spoil:
He knew first hand that the Yuuzhan Vong were coming to town and wanted to help the biggest galactic power of the time make sure that they would be ready when they showed up. This is also why he was willing to attack a cruiser full of Jedi at Palpatines command: because he agreed with Palpatines assessment that if the Vong were to get their hands on force-users early, that they would gain a huge advantage in the upcoming conflict.

Additionally, it's speculated that if the fledgling New Republic had gained more control of the Galaxy, he would have sided with them when he came back from the Unknown Regions because his first priority was still getting the Galaxy all militarized in time for the war.

Also yay retcons, and pretty much all written by Timothy Zahn himself.

Dammit now I need to read the Thrawn trilogy again, The Hand of Thrawn, and Outbound Flight.
