Thanks, Ola! That whole video was almost Fasth highlights! He is screening the goalie on that first goal and it appears that he is dictating play in a couple of the moments prior even to the 1:10 mark. Is there an HD version you can find anywhere?

Hindsight? Not so much. I don't remember anyone being happy at the time about the trade.
No one was happy but most didn't care. He didn't want to be here. Can't force a player to stay here.

Lindberg with another pair of helpers today, 20 points in 19 games.

Fast with an assist today as well.

Lindberg had a great game last night. Don't get me wrong, it's not like all his other pts are tap ins or secondary assists, but many of his pts comes off plays that wasn't exactly architected by OL. But last night he was one of the better players on his team. He made alot of really nifty plays. Was strong both ways.

Like I've touched upon before, he is in a hockey hotbed (as hot as any in the world basically), the last years they've started to do well for the first time in almost three decades, there are a ton of good young grown players on his team really pushing each other and a bunch are already in the NHL (Adam Larsson, Rundblad, Tim Erixon) which speaks alot about the program of a city with only 50-60k (?) population. That type of stuff shouldn't be underrated. "Normally" players like OL tends to come close but not all the way, but the above stuff shouldn't be underrated. The kid seem to have a great head on his shoulder, he will push himself, and is already pushed tremendously, so you never know where this could end up.

I know many people here have described Skjei as a McDonagh-like player but to me he reminds me more of John Carlson of the Caps than McDonagh. Anyone agree?

Apparently when FCS Atlantic was supposed to show the Minnesota game live, they decided to put it on delay again at 11:00.

So apparently Skjei played in that game. Anyone watch the delayed video?

Also, Fasth vs. Lindberg tomorrow - I trust some of our trusty Swedish brethren will have reports for us...?

Yup, Lindberg went out with a concussion late in the first period. Won't be able to play with the national team.

And they've already declared him out for the national team?

Does that mean that the national team starts practicing soon - or that the injury was that bad?

Its been diagnosed as a concussion and hence he is out 6 days per automatic and will miss the national team games.

But, I don't think there is any reason to worry. The hit was real dirty and unnecessary, but in like the Hagelin on Alfie mold. Lindberg chiped out the puck and in came a really dirty player on HV71 (Per Ledin) and planted an elbow in his face from his blindside.

Lindberg was never out or anything, but it seemed like he got his head rung a bit so to speak. He didn't return. There have been some ugly concussions in Sweden lately and I do think this is just the case of doctors and team trying to do the right thing. After seing how OL looked when he skated off the ice, I thought he would be back for the 2nd period. He looked pretty unaffected.

I am pretty pissed by the reaction in Swedish hockey though. This is in no sense a hockey play or anything, even remotely, else than a intent to give another player a concussion. He hard elbow to the jaw from the blind side. It won't even be reviewed... In that sense the NHL is atleast doing something right, while individual calls can be discussed. Here you will be suspended for a hard hit while sheit like that is let be....

Thanks Ola.

That's encouraging.

Still a tough break. He was off to such a good start.
