It would be great if Royal Delta went to the Classic.

The Classic might be an easier race than the Ladies Classic.
Although I haven't matched the numbers.

They're coming out in dribs and drabs, but equibase now releases probables for the Marathon.

http://www.equibase.com/breederscup/marathon.pdf

Always an impossible race to handicap.

Gotta love horses coming out of Allowance-Optional Claiming and going into the Breeders' Cup

Found them.

Juvenile Turf. A telephone number could come out of here as they pretty much all look to have a shot.
http://www.equibase.com/breederscup/juvenile_turf.pdf

F&M Sprint. Very competitive.
http://www.equibase.com/breederscup/...are_sprint.pdf

Sprint. Last years winner Amazombie is back and likes the track. But so do several others. The speedy Trinniberg is one fast hombre.
http://www.equibase.com/breederscup/sprint.pdf

Dirt Mile. Post is crucial for this race.
http://www.equibase.com/breederscup/dirt_mile.pdf

Turf. McGaughey's Point Of Entry will be favored off 5 in a row, included 3 Gr1's.
http://www.equibase.com/breederscup/turf.pdf

Juvenile. Baffers Power Broker should be favored off a solid Gr1 win on track. Todd's undeated Shanghai Bobby is the threat from the East.
http://www.equibase.com/breederscup/juvenile.pdf

Turf Mile. Always entertaining. Not many Europeans this year.

Ed Fountaine, in today's New York Post, analyzed the Juvenile Turf. He has Fantastic Moon and George Vancouver as live longshots. Dundonnell and Noble Tune are the two horses he considers playing.

Fountaine was never hesitant to step out. My kind of handicapper.
Unless he's heard something, that Fantastic Moon is hard to recommend being no factor as the fav.
On the other hand, George Vancouver is the typical Aidan O'Brien stretch out. Although he's had a very active summer for a 2yr old, with a long journey ahead.

^ Ed Fountaine is using Shackleford and Baffert's Fed Biz in the Dirt Mile. I haven't seen his picks in other races; summarized once a day for the past few days.

With no hockey to watch, I'd let to see if I can get through these this year.

JUVENILE SPRINT

PP HORSE TRAINER JOCKEY ODDS
1 HIGHTAIL D. Wayne Lukas Rajiv Maragh 8-1
2 CEILING KITTY Thomas Dascombe John Velazquez 12-1
3 MERIT MAN Robert Hess Jr. Pat Valenzuela 8-5
4 SOUTH FLOYD Doug O'Neill Ramon Dominguez 6-1
5 SUPER NINETY NINE Bob Baffert Martin Garcia 5-2
6 HAZARDOUS Carl O'Callaghan Edwin Maldonado 8-1
7 SWEET SHIRLEY MAE Wesley Ward Joel Rosario 4-1

Merit Man, South Floyd, and Super Ninety Nine look like the only players here.
South Floyd can reverse Merit Man as he sits outside him and gets a better rider.
Super Ninety Nine has Baffert training him.

JUVENILE FILLIES TURF

PP HORSE TRAINER JOCKEY ODDS
1 KITTEN'S POINT Graham Motion Rafael Bejarano 12-1
2 SUMMER OF FUN George Weaver Ramon Dominguez 30-1
3 SKY LANTERN Richard Hannon Richard Hughes 3-1
4 FLOTILLA Mikel Delzangles Christophe Lemaire 8-1
5 SPRING VENTURE Mark Casse Pat Husbands 5-1
6 WATSDACHANCES Chad Brown Javier Castellano 4-1
7 OSCAR PARTY Wayne Catalano Kent Desormeaux 20-1
8 TARA FROM THE CAPE Todd Pletcher John Velazquez 12-1
9 NANCY O Carolyn Costigan David Moran 30-1
10 WATERWAY RUN Ralph Beckett Frankie Dettori 10-1
11 MOONWALK Dale Romans Corey Lanerie 20-1
12 THE GOLD CHEONGSAM Jeremy Noseda William Buick 20-1
13 FLASHY WAYS Richard Baltas Joe Talamo 10-1
14 SUSTAINED Dale Romans Joel Rosario 12-1
AE15 INFANTA BRANCA Aidan O'Brien Ryan Moore 15-1
AE16 MOULIN DE MOUGIN Richard Mandella

On paper, this is as competitive a race as you'll ever see. Square prices abound.
The run into the 1st turn will be brutal, and may eliminate solid competitors such as Flashy Ways and Sustained.

Spring Venture catches my eye. She has been handily, in hand, and ridden out in 3 starts. If she can make the long trip in one piece, she should handle the hard surface.
3 of the Europeans look to be coming to the race in good order.
Infanta Branca
Waterway Run
Sky Lantern

JUVENILE FILLIES

PP HORSE TRAINER JOCKEY ODDS
1 BEHOLDER Richard Mandella Garrett Gomez 5-2
2 EXECUTIVEPRIVILEGE Bob Baffert Rafael Bejarano 2-1
3 SPRING IN THE AIR Mark Casse Patrick Husbands 15-1
4 RENEE'S QUEEN Eric Guillot Corey Nakatani 30-1

6 ALMOST AN ANGEL Wesley Ward Joel Rosario 30-1
7 BROKEN SPELL D. Wayne Lukas Rajiv Maragh 20-1
8 KAUAI KATIE Todd Pletcher Rosie Napravnik 3-1

How can Executiveprivilege lose?
Only if the pace gets really quick.
Spring In The Air actually has the best 2 turn number.

Nahrain is a question on this surface.
European 3yr old shippers The Fugue & Ridasiyna look to be very talented, rested, and able to handle the firm turf.

BREEDERS' CUP LADIES' CLASSIC

PP HORSE TRAINER JOCKEY ODDS
1 GRACE HALL Tony Dutrow Javier Castellano 10-1
2 MY MISS AURELIA Steve Asmussen Corey Nakatani 4-1
3 CLASS INCLUDED Jim Penney Russell Baze 30-1

Awesome Feather, with her wonderful stalking style, and 10/10 record will be severely challanged.
Royal Delta, last years darling, looks razor sharp.
Todd's Love And Pride has won back to back Gr1's......over the track.
And some brilliant 3yr olds like the undefeated My Miss Aurelia, and the speedy Questing.
A fabulous race.

The Mig shoots down Executiveprivilege...

In Lingerie at 12/1...I'm tempted.

Also, it's really a shame that Royal Delta didn't go tot he Classic, and goes into the race formerly known as the Distaff. However, that's easily the race I'm most excited for. The Classic itself, only really care about because the last 2 PA Derby winners are in it, and I hope one of them wins. I'm also going to miss the better part of Saturday anyways, at least live. Seems like the days I actually try to stay home never work out. I'll be at a bar, so maybe I can work that in.

My Miss Auerlia and Awesome Feather...someone's 0 has got to go....

I loved the Mig. Watched him as a top apprentice at Aqueduct way back. Good career.
The problem with his comment (and I hate favorites) is Beholder & Kauai Kate look impressive, but have never been close to 2 turns. And Pletchers Dreaming Of Julia has also not been around 2 turns, while beating 4 horse fields.
As I mentioned, this Spring In The Air has the best 2 turn number, but has yet to run on dirt.

In Lingerie would have to do it the 'Prized' way. As in never been on the turf, until the Breeders Cup.

The Prized victory was the worst beat of my waging life.
I had Sierra Roberta wheeled over the entire field at I believe 24-1.
I only had 3 or 4 on top of her. Prized, who had never run on the turf, was not one of them. The exacta over Prized was well over $1,000.

The Mig earned my respect for his Pacific Classic shocker about five years ago with Student Council. I had him with a 25-1 (?) shot. Nice memory.

Jerry Bailey offers analysis for each of Friday's races including the Juvy fillies and Execpriv...

Quote:
3. Executive Privelige: For a favorite, she is very vulnerable for a couple of reasons. She did have things totally her own way in her last winning effort, getting an easy lead with very moderate fractional times, and there is a ton of speed in here this time to go with her. Also she didnít work all that well for this race and was bearing out through the stretch as she did when she barely beat Beholder at Del Mar.
