It's funny how you're quick to note how other junior players dominated that same tournament many years ago and became busts. However, when it suits your argument you treat it as gospel.
When your paired up against the best in the world it's not hard to see who comes the forefront, and Johanson was a Stud plain and simple, a Future NHL'er with out a Doubt.

So is Kadri, we're only taking our time with him, he will be on the club for a long long time. Get with the program.

After some looking around:

Quote:
All games will be broadcast on AHL Live; the audio feed is always free. If satellite is more your thing, SiriusXM is where you can set your dial.. or whatever it is satellite radios use. The fun gets underway at 7pm PST, 10pm EST on Sirius 207 and XM 92

Abbotsford is a good team. Marlies will have to work for this one.

If we played Kadri in a 4th line role for the entire season, people would be complaining that we were ruining him. Can't win I think it's a waste of his talent to be honest.

Also, when did we start taking tips from the Blue Jackets, an organization in worse shape than us.

As I said in the CHL prospects thread, one of the networks should be stepping up and doing a triple header Saturday on HNiC timeslot, QMJHL, OHL, WHL. People are conditioned to watch hockey at that time, and it would be the best available product for that market.
I vote to see MacKinnon, McDavid and Rielly!

We debate about playing time in junior vs AHL vs NHL.

A couple of the kids who played in the NHL last year are doing okay in the AHL this year, Horak and Johansen. So it is just interesting to be able to compare the different routes these players are taking.

Does it really matter, will talent rise to the top regardless of where they develop?

Leafs TV just continues to prove how worthless it is. They should be showing every Marlies game while the lockout is on. Yet here we are paying for it and getting, what? Repeats all day long of Marlies Today and some "classic" games.

Yes, absolutely. Talent just doesn't show up in players. The problem stems from the inability to quantify development by the organization. Dealing with prospects is its not an exact science. Sure Johansen playing 4th line centre may have worked for him, but who's to say it would work for Kadri. You cant just put our prospects in all these scenarios and hope for the best just because some other guy seemed to succeed. That's a good way to screw up development.

We're also talking about a 4th overall player versus one that went 7th overall. I think we can all agree that there is a gap between Kadri and Johansen talent wise.

Expected lineup per Jon Abbott

Ashton-Colborne-Komarov
Hamilton-Kadri-Zigomanis
McKegg-Aucoin-Deschamps
D'amigo-Acton-Scott

Fraser-Holzer
Ranger-Blacker
Gardiner-Kostka

Scrivens

STILL no Ross, Devane, or Owuya. Gotta question Eakins methods here. 7 games in, not an outstanding record and not everybody has played yet.

Edit: though I suspect that maybe Eakins is trying to send a message to management that they need an ECHL affiliate. still...

Why is tonights Marlies game not on television. There is nothing to watch on TV now, was hoping the game would be played. What good is Leafs TV if they don't air road Marlies games

just being anal, but I hate seeing Abbott mess up the lines like that. Here's how that should read:

Hamilton-Kadri-Zigomanis
McKegg-Aucoin-Deschamps
Ashton-Colborne-Komarov
D'amigo-Acton-Scott

Gardiner-Kostka
Fraser-Holzer
Ranger-Blacker

Scrivens

I haven't been able to see much Marlie hockey yet this year so is Kadri really playing centre mostly? And if so how's he doing on faceoffs. i would like to see him get a shot at centre in the NHL so I'm just curious if he's playing it in the AHL right now.

I really hope we see these lines after Frattin comes back.

Kadri - Aucoin - Frattin
Hamilton - Colborne - Zigomanis

They're not scrubs. They provide stability in the lineup.

Been asking that before the first game even started. I realize veterans need their playing time too but come on, these guys are 4th line players in the AHL while guys like Ross who have some potential are forced to sit.

I don't mind trying it occasionally, there's nothing wrong with that, but too many rookies can lead to undisciplined play.
