Who to watch?BARONS TO WATCH: All eyes will be on the Barons #22 on Friday, Taylor Hall makes his AHL debut after a lengthy offseason of healing and rehabbing his shoulder. Other potential players that might see their first AHL action of the season are big forward Cam Abney and another tough as nails player Teigan Zahn. Both players were recalled this week while Kristians Pelss headed in the other direction to Stockton.

AEROS TO WATCH: Houston much like OKC is loaded with youth and highly touted youth at that. Mikael Granlund continues his hot start to his first season in North America with 10 points through 7 games. Houston has five recent first round picks on their club: Granlund, Jonas Brodin (Oscar Klefbom's former teammate), Zack Phillips, Charlie Coyle, and Tyler Cuma. They also have a number of recent 2nd round picks: Brett Bulmer, Johan Larsson, Jason Zucker, and Marco Scandella.

Quotable"I thought that we made it easy for them, we have to be hard to play against, last night we weren't"-Barons head coach Todd Nelson on last Friday's 6-4 loss to the Houston Aeros.

Lineups TBD, I heard that Hall was skating with Vande Velde and Paajarvi today, we'll see if that holds up for tomorrow.

I had no idea Zahn signed with the Barons. Looking forward to seeing him play, I really liked him with the Blades.

Per interview with Nelson on the Oilers site he isn't going to play any of the kids 3 consecutive games in 3 consecutive days. He hinted that you wouldn't see all three in the line up until Abbotsford.

Hope Davidson is okay and get's everything taken care of.

I am very glad to see Abney and Zahn recalled, nice to see the Barons addressing the targeting of our players instead of humming and hawing about it.

That line up looks great, although I know basically nothing about Zahn. Should be a very interesting game.

Now I'm reading reports of Hall playing center tomorrow behind the Nuge. Would certainly give us protection from a top line isolation. Can anyone confirm this?

He was practicing on LW with VV and Paajarvi today IIRC. I believe that I read somewhere that they might give him a go at C after he gets his feet wet, so that likely won't be in his first game in 7+ months IMO.

Yeah I had to ask. Mostly of either excitement or curiosity. Probably excitement more than anything. It makes sense that he starts at his natural position. Thanks for making sense. Should be interesting. I see Hall catching up to speed fairly quickly and being a real driving force on this team like he was with the Oil.

If the lockout continues for at least another month or better I'd expect to see him at center unless his shoulder is bothering him.

Top line consists of all AHL rookies. Top pairing on d, same thing. When is this organization going to finally get some veteran help? This could be ugly!

Looks like RNH sitting tonight: http://oilers.nhl.com/club/news.htm?...id=DL|EDM|home

All three of Hall, Nugent-Hopkins and Eberle will not be in the lineup at the same time this weekend. The way it's looking right now, Eberle and Hall will play on Friday, Eberle and Nugent-Hopkins on Saturday and Hall and Nugent-Hopkins on Sunday.

The forward lines Friday are expected to be Hartikainen with Arcobello and Eberle, Hall with VandeVelde and Paajarvi, Tyrvainen with Martindale and Pitlick and Byers with House and Abney.

Also, looking forward to seeing the new uni's:

I would like to see either Abney, Teubert, Zahn or another "deterrent" on the ice with the stars at all times. I doubt that Houston will be trying to run the stars, but it doesn't hurt to make sure.

I am sad to see Pelss go, but hopefully he will get more playing time in Stockton.

This is possible.

Also those Zahn fights were very reassuring.

Can't wait to watch Hall tonight!
