Defenders Shavar Thomas and Josh Gardner, as well as forward Evan James, were not included in the list for the Italy tour. Therefore, they will not be returning to the team for the 2013 season. Thomas and Gardner will both be eligible for the next MLS Re-entry Draft.

Disappointed to see Mapp on the roster and even more disappointed to see Evan James go. I thought he had a pretty decent shot at a good career. I guess management feels Ilcu is ready to make the jump to the next level.

I'm very very surprised James was let go. Kind of disappointed, I thought he had a good potential.

Can't say I'm surprised with Gardner and Thomas, it was expected.

I think the next ones on the list after the tour is completed will be Neagle, Montano, Mapp and Iapichino.

Agreed except for Neagle... Neagle is still *relatively* young and he can be decent as a sub, not to mention the wing is our biggest weakness.

Evan James is a good prospect. There has to be an off-pitch reason.

They invited 5 players from the academy for the italy tour. Doesnt mean they'll get a contract though. Personnally I think Ilcu and lefebvre will get a contract. Maybe Crepeau too but given his injuries this season he probably would go back to the academy for another year.

Beaulieu-Bourgault still doesn't have a contract. I don't like him much but he could be on the team's radar as a depth player.

I gave MLS.Com the scoop so that they could post it on their website. I would then be able to tell you guys about it, without saying that I got sources by linking MLS' website. Just sayin (Just to make sure, I'm joking here )

For real though. Would be so funny if it were to be Stankovic. Right after Jesse Marsch said that "He had no clue who he is" at Practice today.. Since hes under contract with Inter, I think he woulden't be able to fully join the team until the January Window, which isn't really a big deal, cause he could still play the friendlies

Stankovic-Bernier-

EDIT: Here's NDS on Stankovic, Interview at 18H Today (Friday) http://tvasports.ca/tvasports/soccer...02-101530.html

I guess Felipe would go to the wing, Stankovic as the #10 with Warner and Bernier in front of the D line.

To sum that up

NDS: "To be honnest, Its the league[MLS] that approached us earlier this season. Stankovic wanted to join the MLS, so they contacted us. Indeed he is a very interesting player, but at that point [When the MLS contacted MTL about him] we weren't interested because we already had our DP, and weren't thinking of a second one. Now, is he an option? we'll see. But I can confirm I haven't had any discussions with Dejan Stankovic for a while (IMO poker face ) "

Unlikely. NDS said they werent interested signing a 2nd DP last season because they thought one DP was enough.

Im not sure if it's allowed but if the impact are close to the cap and dont have enough allocation money they could turn Nesta's contract to a DP.
