Switched a few things up recently:

Protective (elbows, shins, shoulders): Bauer Vapor XXV
Pants: Supreme One90
Skates: Supreme One100
Gloves: Warrior Luxe (new - still have my Vapor Pros as well)
Lid: CCM V08 (new - w. Oakley straight pro visor)
Sticks: Bauer One95 P102 77 Flex & Easton RS Stealth Getzlaf 75 Flex (new)

So far, loving the new gear though the palms on the Luxe feel a bit thick.

New cage thanks to a screened slapshot. You can see the bend on my old one...bar ended up a quarter of an inch from my cheek.

Yeah, nv/nme cheater through goalie monkey. It's really solid.

I played last night and this morning with it.

Great sight lines, I actually like it more than any other cage I've used.

Are you allowed to play with a helmet/cage combo in the NHL or any other league nowadays?

I don't know about NA, but here in Finland a visor is required and all cage/fishbowl combos are banned from adults.

Helmet: Bauer 7500 w/ HDO pro-clip visor
Shoulders: CCM U+ Control (SFS SMU)
Elbows: Reebok 5K
Pants: Warrior Bully
Shins: Easton EQ30
Gloves: Reebok XT Pro (SFS SMU)
Skates: Reebok 6K
Stick: RBZ, SE16, X:50, One60

Picked up pieces here and there before I started playing so I managed to get my protective on pretty good deals. Starting to splurge on gear like helmet and sticks.

2 Questions:

1.) Why so?

2.) And how about goalies? Can they wear helmet/cage combos?

Dunno about those specific ones but I really like my KFS 4k (now 5k) shoulders. They don't slide around like other ones I've tried.

Looking at the pictures, I'm not sure I'd spend $140 for a shoulder pad and shirt when I could just spend $80 on the 7k's and get close enough.

I currently have the Easton 85S and i there are times that i feel that they rise up into my neck. Looking at the pic i looks like these are kind of a "v-cut"

I had the exact problem with different elbow pads and the Reeboks fixed it. They have segmented torso and shoulder areas so they kind of move independently. Unless you have tons of cash to blow, I'd check out some of the mid range models first.

It seems like either that size of shoulder pad doesn't fit very well or that particular style of cut doesn't fit. You can't really tell how a pad will fit just from a picture, you need to try it on.

Helmet: Reebok 7k/Hedjuk visor straight cut
Gloves: Bauer 4-roll Pros
Skates: Reebok 9ks
Shoulders: terrible CCM 2.0s
Shins: Reebok/Jofa 3k
Elbows: Bauer supreme one30
Pants: CCM tacks
Sticks: Pro stock s19 (Coffey curve), Bauer x:lite, Warrior Esquire

The helmet is perfect and cost a lot less than the 9k would have, visor gets the job done. The gloves are one game old and only have a point to their name but they're the greatest mitts I've ever had, I had Vapor pros before these. Skates are awesome, took a slapper to the ankle on a road trip once and all I had was a bruise to show for it. Shoulders are awful, need new ones with some actual padding. Shinnys get the job done, always taking shots to the legs and never had even a bruise. Elbows are okay, maybe a little short on the forearm. Pants get it done. Two terrible sticks and one I haven't used yet so I'll post after my game this week.
