Past 4 seasons there has always been 1-2 outsiders. (East - Vitjaz, West 1-2 financially unstable teams). Others are battling for the last 1-2 spots till the end.

This season Vitjazfrom east ain't fighting, so it will be interesting.

Hoping for the best. Especially to meet SKA in playoff.
Upsetting their allstar (at least for khl) roster another time would be hilarious.

Hopefully next upset is without Kovy cause he'll be back playing here!

Which is impressive in its own right. You don't see point streaks like that often in the NHL.

They used a hole in KHL rules.
While Tarasenko is only 20 yo, he was moved to SKA's youth team "SKA-1946" freeing one spot for an NHL player.
But being in SKA structure Tarasenko is eligible to play for the main team.

Not more than 60% of what he makes in NHL. But not sure is it his cap or actual salary.

I think Kovy had 2 assists in a 9-2 win.

I'm actually pretty happy about this. We need a fresh Kovy if the season does eventually start. He will have the most wear, and tear on the team cause he's been playing since September. Only Zidlicky will have played more games since Volch was injured, and Clarkie played like 5 games only.

In europe we have a series of tournaments between Sweden, Russia, Finland and the Czech's. So the leagues have a break for those:b

Kovy was not chosen to play for the russian team either so he will get some rest.

More rest for Kovy also means less chance for.....*knock on wood*....injury.

Isn't that kind of odd that he didn't get selected? Or is it for younger players mostly?

If there is no NHL season and all the star are available for the world tournament its pretty obvious kovalchuk is going to play so they usually let a few of the "veterans" sit. It is the same with the swedish team, Zetterberg said no to play saying it was better for the youngsters to get a chance.

SKA wins today 4-1 over Dinamo MN. First game back from KHL break. I can't find the scorecard for it though cause the KHL's site is acting very strange, and messed up today.

Alright found the box score. Site is still weird though, and not how I remember it from before the break. No points for Kovy today. Though he did go 1 for 1 on faceoffs! Haha!

Highlights from past game, nothing really interesting from Devils side but on 06:59 Kovy shows some really sick moves

He should've shot it at the bad angle there.....Would've been a sensational goal.
