Ask Stefan Noesen anything

Well I've been given the opportunity to interview Stefan Noesen of your Ottawa Senators and thought it would be a cool thing to get diehard Sens fans to ask the questions since you will be the ones watching him in a few years.

If you'd like anything answered, don't hesitate to post in this thread or send me a PM. I will do my best to get all the interview questions in if I can. Will post the final article when I'm finished.

Thanks for your help.

What does he feel he has left to prove before making the jump to the NHL.

How is the selection on the WJC team and potentially playing on the top-line feel and motivate him to rise to the occasion?

People comparing him to Perry-lite, how does he feel about that comparison?

What attribute does he feel like he has improved the most since becoming drafted.

What does he consider to be his best assets?

The organization have constantly praised Noesen and some-times more than other top-end forward prospects Ottawa has, especially since he was put on the list of prospects to come up for a tryout stint with Ottawa if lockout removed. How does he feel towards Organization's faith and hope in him?

What were the suspicions on draft day in regards to who he felt would draft them, were some teams showing more interests than others?

How is he preparing for the transition from the CHL to the World Juniors, and then from the WJC back to the CHL? How would he describe the World Junior selection process so far?

Are you happier after a goal, an assist, or a penalty kill?

If ottawa approached you with a trade to dallas, would you ask to stay or ask to go? (noesen's from texas).

As a kid from Texas, what made him pick up hockey instead of football?

3 part question (or 3 separate questions, all about hockey before the OHL):

1) the Minnesota North Stars moved to Dallas in '93, the year you were born. Who was your favorite Star growing up? What effect did the Stars have on you growing up in Texas, and how was your desire to play hockey looked upon by your friends/ classmates?

2) Tyler Myers is another recent Texas-born player to star in the NHL, though his family left Houston for Canada when he was 10. You instead left to play in the Detroit minor hockey system when you were a teenager. What was the draw to the Compuware U-16 team? Did you have other hockey opportunities to develop closer to home?

3) What was the transition like from the Compuware teams to the Plymouth Whalers? The Compuware team is very connected to the Whalers, was it expected that you would eventually play for Plymouth?

Feel free to change the wording of the questions, I'm hella tired.

serious questions

Who do you see yourself fitting well with on the ice in ottawa off the current roster just for fun?

What are the things you're really working on to get the next level? Has ottawa given you any hints on things to work on or where they might see you fitting in?

Do you expect to be playing in Binghamton next year? Did you get to know any of the guys on the bingo roster at all?

How did the development camp go? What were the biggest things you took or learned from it?

What did you think of the competition and level of talent in the system in ottawa? Did that push you to work harder?

Are you over the reality that you weren't drafted by dallas?

How do you feel about dropping the gloves?

Would you like to see the Sens pursue Tom Wilson?

Which, if any, current Sens players have you had the opportunity to talk to, and what is the best piece of advice you have received from them?

Was going to ask something similiar.

Once you hit UFA are you going to bolt to Dallas?

Nothing to worry about, but you're off to a slow start by your standards and at the bottom of your team with a -5. Any particular reason? Or is it just taking a while for everything to come together this year?

This is the perfect question ... if the goal is to sour the kid on Ottawa and push him out of town at his earliest opportunity.

This is what I don't understand about the human race. CLEARLY, we are asking him this because we DON'T want him to bolt to Dallas. Yet, asking him this ''will sour the kid on Ottawa'' and push him closer to bolting.

I don't get it.

For one, that question won't get passed the guy conducting the interview. Two, one fan couldn't sour his opinion of an entire city.

But I find it hard to believe you don't understand how that question could be perceived negatively by Noesen, if it were asked.

Ask him the classic Andre Roy question:

Do you like poutine?

Well, if you word it as abruptly as that, yeah. I'm generally interested in what kind of draw both he and other NHL players have to their childhood team once the reality of being an NHLer, in a different city, sets in.

I'm sure there are different levels,

Some players, i'm sure, would have the paul anka complex and be terrified of being judged negatively in their home town.

Some players would like to go there if it happened, but really dont care.

Some players would only persue it if their current organization gave up on them.

Some players would jump at the chance to go there if it came up.

Some players would go there as soon as they hit free agency, honoring the franchise that drafted them but still leaving.

Some players would actively attempt to make it happen, through trade demand.

so where does noesen fall on this spectrum? Where do most players fall on this spectrum? It's an interesting question.

Do you feel any pressure being drafted by a Canadian team?

Would you have rather been drafted by an original 6 team?

Was going to say something similar.
Would you have rather been drafted by Ottawa, Toronto or Montreal?
