EMac has been doing some guest posts for The Hockey Writers (Combine) on prospects out of the Q who are 2013 eligible.

His unique style and perspective makes for an always an enjoyable read.

So far:

McKeen's Nov-12 draft rankings are now up. Frédérik is one of 7 Q players in McKeen's top 30 at #17 with potentially a few more to sneak in later e.g Duclair, Zykov. Plus there are a few potential 2nd rounders such as Sorenson, Morin, Kostalek, maybe even Dea if he were to add a few more pounds. It is definitely looking as an up year for the Q.

Evidently going to be one of the potentially best draft from a Q point of view in recent memory.

Scott Oke, "The Castaway" now up at The HockeyWritersCombine.

Update: Rimouski beats Quebec 5-4 tonight. Scott Oke, 1g 1a +3, playing mainly against the Remparts top line. The announcers were saying they believe Scott could achieve the same draft success as Alexandre Mallet of the Oceanic received last year (2nd round, No 58, to Vancouver).

Very interested to see where the Okester lands in 2013 > hopefully in the "skate steps" of Tanner Pearson, Alexandre Mallet or Seth Griffith - I'm sure Scott will play the cards he's dealt and will persevere no matter what.

Duclair is definitely electric. Seems to be undervalued at this point. Will be interesting to see how his stock value goes as season wheres on.

I don't think it'll be long before he's discussed amongst the likes of Shinkaruk, Monahan, Lindholm etc. I think he's that good.

He's not totally right about Erne. He's found off Grigo's line a lot this season too.

I see him (Duclair) being pretty similar to Andreas Athanasiou of last year.

Athanasiou is a guy with all the talent in the world who just can't seem to make it happen like he should. Seen him play a few times this year with Barrie, still not playing up to his talent level. Detroit does like their projects and Athanasiou is definitely a project. Hopefully, Detroit will be successful in unleashing the hidden talent within Athanasiou because it definitely is there.

Duclair, on the other hand, can make it happen - nice rush tonight to help Logan Shaw score Quebec's only goal. Charles Hudon was excellent for the other side (Chicoutimi) but it was Guillaume Asselin who stole the show with the shootout winner plus the only goal during the regulation 60 minutes for Chicoutimi.

Agree and Athanasiou was pretty hype after the Ivan Hlinka. The reason he drop is because he couldn't transform those flash into production.

Agree, when he plays to the high of his potential, he is electric and make things happen. When he uses his speed, the opposition do not know how to react, hence, creating scorring chances.

If he continues to build on last year's season and what he's done in the past few games, he should be ranked anywhere between 4th and 9th by the end of the season. He had a bad Hlinka tourney, so it's an uphill battle for him now.

Daneurism: I am a little bit more cautiously optimistic about Duclair's upside, but agree he is undervalued and could easily enter the Top 10 equation.

Do you think he raises his stock that much before the draft or post-draft he's one of those guys wondering why they didn't go earlier in the draft?

How many players from the "Q" go in the 1st in 2013? How about in the top 60?
