Yeah, we can bash him all day, but at least he's given it his best shot. He'd almost certainly have been able to make much, much more money playing at home and being with family and friends. So, at least there's that.

If the lockout ends... Look for another call up coming Goncharov's way.

PORTLAND – The Portland Pirates head back to the Androscoggin Bank Colisee for the second of six games to this season, hoping to maintain the momentum of their two-game road trip to St. John’s, Newfoundland.

...what? He is the worst player on the team and possibly the worst defenseman in the AHL.

Goncharov goes for interference at 4:29 of the first period. It's his 4th consecutive INT penalty

can we pack his bags yet?

Had a rough start like the rest of the defense.... However, in the last two games has been at .970

This game the two goals against were both shorthanded.... I guess you could blame that on the goalie...

to answer the question why WLOB failed, is technical issues @ the Arena, Kaizen, Pirate fans finally got connected just before the Bolduc PPG, BUT it ended up being the Senators broadcast..... it was a 4-2 W, as Miele (4)-PP, Brodeur & Szwarz entered the G column, as the team allowed 2 SHG.... Remember, too, CJ is the veteran here, and they don't want to ruin Visentin's confidence so they're breaking him in...

Pirates double Senators, 4-2
By Chris Roy Published: 28th October 2012

Quote:
LEWISTON – After giving up a whopping 24 goals in their first four games, the Portland Pirates have found their groove on defense, allowing just two goals in their last two games.

Chad Johnson made 38 saves and Jordan Szwarz scored the game-winning goal early in third period to give the Pirates a 4-2 win over the Binghamton Senators before a sold-out crowd at the Androscoggin Bank Colisee.

Look for Visentin to get the start in Springfield and OEL will not play after suffering an upper body injury.

It's not a concussion.... It looks like he jammed a finger for something, but the team is calling it upper-body injury.

Falcons sink Pirates in first period barrage
By Chris Roy Published: 28th October 2012

Quote:
The damage done by the Springfield Falcons in the first period proved to be enough to sink the Portland Pirates ship.

The Pirates allowed three goals in the first period, and could never recover fully, dropping a 3-2 decision to the Falcons Sunday afternoon before 2,187 at the MassMutual Center.

What are the lines for the power play? Pretty sure they have allowed a short handed goal every game

Rundblad's creativity drew a penalty. Miele looks like he's flying tonight. Martinook is becoming one of my favorites.

Chris Brown with a goal. He looks like he's going to be one of those hard to play against players at the NHL level. rt, he's our Boone Jenner. You'll like this kid.
