Next games are on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Now that they've done this decision I just hope they are patient and don't send him down if he blows his first start or something. But imo that's not likely anyway with Pearce's future plans and lackluster start of the season.

And that's Evans for ya. He's like a defensive defenseman without the defense.
Yea i just noticed this too, clearly Nyquist should have been awarded the secondary assist on the Tatar goal. It wasn't even like borderline it was obvious, nyquist passes to billins, billins passes to tatar, and tatar scores. Can't catch a break i guess, he already had an assist taken away from the game before.

Points aren't too big of a deal right now. As long as Gus & Tats keep playing like they are, the points will continue to come.

It's not that it's a big deal, it's just odd.

It is pretty strange that it has not been corrected by now.

Any chance someone can take the Tatar goal and make it its own YouTube clip?

Is there any place that archives full Griffins games?

I'll be impressed if he can hold his own with this atrocious Griffins defense.

He is very good at making the momentum saves. Even behind some pretty spotty teams in Ottawa that stuck out.

The 67's were all about offense last year and just hung Mrzaek out to dry for the most part. I've never seen an ECHL game but I'm guessing there isn't much D played in that league either. But when Mrazek played in the WJC for the Czech Republic he would makes 50 some saves a game because that team was defense oriented, albeit a lack of talent. What I'm saying is that Mrazek will kept a team in the game if they play defense around him or not.

He will on a lot of nights, but I think we should temper expectations that he can deliver that all the time in his first year as a pro. He is now stepping up to a level that should challenge him a lot more. I hope he looks great from day 1, but really I just hope he continues to improve and looks like he belongs more than demanding he be the number 1 and rescue the Griffins each and every night. He does usually play well and slam the door with a lead, something Grand Rapids actually has been doing a lot of is getting their goalie just that. He does a lot of things that should help, but he shouldn't have to shoulder the load of pressure. Part of what doomed McCollum is everyone wanted him to be some stud from day one in Grand Rapids, I think the organization has learned from that and I expect them to be less aggressive with Mrazek out of the gate. They already did him a big favor by building his confidence as a pro with a couple games in the ECHL first, not after wrecking his confidence.

nyquist was credited with his assist on tatar's goal. http://theahl.com/stats/game-summary...ame_id=1009963

brendan smith does not look very good in that video. is that sort of play the reason for the criticism this season?

For a few days he had no points for that game, must have just been en error.

Smith was much better this past weekend. Still a couple of turnovers he needs to trim down on but he was actually playing like a good prospect. Not outstanding but good.

Agree Smith's play has picked up in my opinion. My guess is Wings brass had a meeting with him when they showed up in Grand Rapids in force last weekend.

McCollum vs Markstrom tonight!

1-0 shot Nyquist, rebound goal Raedeke. Almqvist gets his first point on the secondary.

2-0 Parkes mid slot.

1-0 Griffins, Raedeke scores off a rebound from a shot from the point by Nyquist, Almqvist also picks up an assist.

^beat me to it.

2-0 on a goal by parkes, hopefully this isn't a typical griffs fast start followed by terrible play in the second half.

Ya this stream quality is pretty crappy, but i saw him fire that one timer and I thought he scored, especially cause the sound was off for a second.

Well actually an Almqvist turnover has led to both goals.
