Nahhh don't like the idea of changing your guy...
Should just be top 6 teams get in all start game.
#1 seed gets to choose their position first and so on... Simple.
No voting. The voting might get skewed like in real life lol.
2-6 record to start the season... not good at all. But in the grand scheme of things im only 4 games under .500 and there is still plenty of hockey to be played. I have one game left against NSH but his cpu isn't on so I can't play them so I guess that game will end up getting simmed unless he gets on when I go on later tonight, but by then I think it will be time for the advance. Also depending on how my team does during the double advance I may strongly consider moving Crosby, I've already gotten a really good offer and I haven't even shopped him, so if you want get your offers in now so we can start talking but i'm not making any guarantee's as to moving him.
Oh man, the All Star Break is a) going to actually exist in our league and b) be a lot of fun!
Here's what i'm thinking...
-Top 6 teams from each Conference make it. Right now that would be...
West:
Vancouver, Chicago, Detroit, Minnesota, St. Louis, San Jose
East:
Islanders, Islanders, Islanders....kidding
Islanders, Washington, Sabres, Jets, Devils, and Bolts
-We'll do an OTP game (has to be ranked or else we cant use our BAPs) in a specific Lobby (Bluth ASG or something)
-Decide who is going to play what position on each team
-From your position, you choose the best guy on your GM Connected Team and model your BAP after him i.e. Change his name, jersey number, appearance, height, weight, and play by play name to reflect the real player.
Example: In the West the Lineup could look like...
Mursak-Sedin-Couture
Keith-Pietrangelo
Niemi
This way, it looks like an actual All-Star game that we actually get to play.
-As far as the shootout goes we can just do essentially a playoff, using the actual seeds at the given time but using the top 8 teams.
Example:
1) Vancouver vs 8) Carolina
1) Islanders vs 8) Edmonton
2) Chicago vs 7) Ottawa
2) Washington vs 7) Colorado
3) San Jose vs 6) Tampa
3) Buffalo vs 6) St. Louis
4) Detroit vs 5) New Jersey
4) Winnipeg vs 5) Minnesota
...and then since its a shootout, it should go by really fast and still be pretty fun. Just use your GM Connected Teams and go into online shootout.
I dunno guys, should be a pretty cool All Star Break for the league.
Chicago, Detroit, Dallas, St Louis, Vancouver, Edmonton (believe it or not) and Colorado...7 out of the 15 teams in the west can win the cup on any given year.
Im not saying the teams in the EAST SUCK, I'm saying its rougher to get wins in the west and harder to just make it to the finals. I am certain there are elite teams in the east too.
Can't wait for all the east teams to rip into me
The 4th or 5th placed Eastern team won the cup. I think that makes the East pretty deep.
Usually in the western playoff race is much tighter, and it usually takes more wins and points to earn a playoff spot in the west, therefor making it a tougher conference to win.

Dude, why did you play my CPU? I'm on every night. Kinda sad that it's my first win and I didn't even play it, though.

two reasons....
1.) You said you are usually on between 10pm and midnight and that is when the sim will occur tonight so I didn't think we would have time for our game tonight
2.) I asked fuss and he said it was alright
If it makes you feel better you can play my cpu next time.

Nah I prefer playing other people. Don't get me wrong, I'm not pissed off or anything. Next time though, just send me a msg though. I could've told you I was going to be available between 5 and 7 today. I was looking forward to playing after work.
The Caps bench looks on as Kane races in on a breakaway
Washington has changed, and for the better. After a rollercoaster season last year that saw Ovechkins score 89 goals and clean up at the awards show, and the team proceed to lose in the first round to Winnipeg, it's clear changes were needed.
GM Evo responded today when asked how his team was better:
"You know, I think we were an easy team to play last year. Defend Ovechkin and you have us beat. Well, I'm happy to say that won't be the case this year. We're more than happy to keep our top 2 lines rolling hard, with the third in there for support, and keep pushing the pace. We've got multiple superstars here who are constantly getting better. We're always adapting, growing, looking for ways to get better. Our system isn't where it needs to be yet, we have work to do - all I can say is teams will see a different beast come April that's for sure. Just try and focus on Ovi and see how the rest of the team takes that disrespect. He's our leader, our captain, but he's certainly not our only scoring threat."
So, this is a bit of an extreme idea but I wanted to test the waters.
In my GM connected league with my cousins and real life friends we had 5 minute periods throughout the season but bumped them up to 10 for the playoffs.
I can't explain how much more intense this made each game, did not necessarily result in higher scores, just longer periods of near heart attacks.
Would you guys be up for it? I of course understand if not (especially because that might make the playoffs take longer and poor teams who don't even make it would have to wait longer...)
ps- Fuss, hope I'm not stepping on toes here, you can obviously VETO the idea regardless of what the consensus says

Going all the way to the cup finals, I would have to say I would rather keep it at 5. My left thumb was literally numb and blue by the 6th game of the cup finals from all the playoff hockey I had played in those 5 days, and I could not imagine how grueling making everything twice as long would be. Not a bad idea at all, but I would vote against it.
maybe for JUST the final playoff matchup (stanley cup finals) I'd consider it, just to give it a more complete finals match. Too many of the playoff games one mistake and your done, at least in the cup final it be cool to know you have some time to make up for it.

Can you set it so that just the finals are 10 mins tho? If so, this could be a great idea!
Also... everyone in this league needs to experience Gm Connected playoff overtime. Man, best gaming experience ever. It's just a game, but man that **** feels real. So if you don't think you have a goalie that can get you there, it's shopping time boys and Neuvirth is available.

Try double OT with your season on the line. Love how you try to include neuvirth in so many of your posts lol
I feel like ten minute periods are a lot for one game. You also I have to count in penalties they slow the time. Your looking at over 30 minutes for 1 game.
