+/- is a ****** statistic, but it's still nice to see Scarlett at a + instead of a -10 or something like he was at the start of last year.

Especially while playing for a pretty bad team.

I hope he gets Gelinas'd (traded to a contender).

Severson's stat line for that game is actually really impressive. Kamploops top line consists of the top three point leaders in the WHL and Severson was matched against them all game.

How can you be +1 when your team doesn't score?

Very good demonstration of his shutdown capabilities. He's definitely looking like a good pick.

They scored three goals and won the game. Severson was presumably a big part of keeping the opposing top line off the scoresheet.

1 goal and +2 in a 6-3 loss isn't half bad. Also nice to see Boucher with a + rating for once.

Beauty of a post.

How dare you not to be pessimistic about him? Blasphemy I say.
Better late than never. Broncos played against Everett with Murray in the lineup.

Scarlett looks more seasoned, poised, positionally sound. Was out there on every PP. Not as good of a puck mover as Merrill but his vision and hockey sense in the formation (when/where to pass, knows when to take a shot too, what type of a shot he should take) is great. He`s a solid skater so 1-on-1 or getting the puck out of the zone wasn`t an issue for him. As for the negatives, he still needs to get stronger, especially in front of the net and in the corners.

As for Black, I was VERY impressed with him. Great hockey IQ, two-way play, knows when/how to use his blazing speed, quick hands and what I liked the most, he was very creative/inovative. Not just the way he was distributing the puck but also the way he was finalizing the plays (shot, deke, forward pass, blindside pass). Definitely one of the best three players on the ice that day. No wonder he was invited to the camp.

Found another game online - Armada`s loss to Moncton. Not one of the better Matteau`s games, but again, not everything shows up on the statsheet so I`m happy for the opportunity to see him play anyway.

Don`t have much time right now though, don`t expect me to make a short report anytime soon.

Not sure if this was mentioned already but Kerfoot will be playing for Canada West in the World Junior A Challenge. Their first game is tonight.

No definitive update, but the writer alluded to Merrill's initial mid-November recovery time to be a little optimistic.

Quote:
Berenson originally anticipated a recovery time of six weeks, but that frame remains uncertain. Merrill has spent his time watching film on the power play, strengthening his lower body and taking a more vocal role on the team.

Hell maximize his time off the ice, said Michigan coach Red Berenson. Hes been great. Hes into the team. Hes into the school. Hes into the program. Hes had some tough setbacks, but hes handled every one of them with a lot of class.
