How up to date are the DEL league leader stats?

http://www.del.org/de/statistiken/to.../80-87---.html

Seems like Giroux is scoring 2 or 3 pts a game every game

lol G is honestly too good for that league. Him and Briere are on a different level than pretty much anyone else.

****, I wish he was doing work in Philly right now though

Love G.

5 points today takes him from 24th to 4th in the scoring race. In seven games. The rest have played 14-16 games.

Thanks to Bill Meltzer for tweeting the stats, I'm too lazy to look 'em up myself as of now

Any word on Lukes doings during the lockout?
His game/confidence would benefit playing in one of these lesser leagues. Without the Leaf/flyer fan/media pressure.

Well, it also helps that he has Briere at his side and plays at what has been the best team over the last few years. One NHL-player alone should dominate the league, but still has to play with line-mates who are way below his talent-level. Two stars, on the other hand, can just play together without losing much. I doubt that Giroux and Briere would put up 2 1/2 points per game if they had to play with DEL-talent alone

Well, maybe they would, Doug Weight had 15 points in 7 games during the last lockout, but he also played with the league's topscorer, who scored 94 points compared to the league's second best with 62.

Bryz played for 59 minutes in 6:2 win over Amur. His stats are: 20/21 with 95.24 save %

Giroux and Briere were split up 4 or 5 games ago.
They don't even share PP time.

And Doug Weight had another NHLer, altough a defender (Stephane Robidas) in his team as well. Robidas was the most dynamic defender this league has seen, to this day imo.

They shared assists on three goals yesterday, most of their goals come in combination with Andre Rankel, somehow I doubt that Berlin is changing their lines so often that both play with Rankel ES and on the PP without playing with each other. They might have been split up for two games, but they were definately playing together up until four games ago and also in the last one.

Considering that they only got 3 and 2 points in those two games, while getting 15 and 14 in the other five, I'd say playing together has very much an impact

Rigth, completely forgot about Robidas. He sure did turn in quite the performance. He was more of a bottom-pairing defenseman in the NHL at that point though.

Even so the game started a bit dizzy yesterday, it is true: Danny and G together and also with Rankel in a line is the best offense for our team. Don had to split them up for some games due to the lack of manpower and those games seemed a bit tougher.
Both Flyers together keep the flow better goin', they're taking over the reins and pushing the whole team way better than being split up.

Who is the primary center when together , I assume G with Danny on the wing. I wonder if the nhl comes back, Flyers try top line of Harts-G-Danny ?

Yeah, it's usually like you say. G is really special and he has obviously much fun out there, our fans really love him.

Question for the German posters (Hallo )

Do you think with Giroux and Briere being fan favorites (I'm assuming, but from what I've read the fans in Berlin love them) more Germans will take interest in the NHL/Flyers?

Ok, my fault.
I saw them in Straubing and they played on separate lines like in the last televised game.

Robidas was one of a few players really developping during the lockout. He came as a fringe NHLer, he left as a #3 NHL defender, imo.

I think they'll turn quite a few Eisbären fans into Flyers fans.
Not sure about fans from other teams. I don't think they'll grow to like those two alot.

Would be nice to see some more Flyers stuff around here.
Saw a guy in a Pens sweater the other day in college. Man do I hate the Pens.

I doubt it. To be honest: It will hardly affect anything. Fans from other teams in the DEL are calling it "distortion of competition". Sure, some love to see them playing (even against their own teams) but most will give a damn rat's arse. Some of Eisbären fans may check things and stuff 'bout G and Danny and Flyers and buy fan stuff for the time being but most only care about their own team, most fans I know don't even care about NHL.
On the other hand: People who are interesting in the NHL here don't really care about the DEL and I doubt the interest in the NHL nor in the DEL will increase after G and Danny are gone again.

I'm not different, tbh. I care for my team, I don't even care about other teams in the DEL, to have G and Danny in our team made me look out over the sea and coming here to share our pleasure we have with your great guys and to make you see both are fine and having fun. But I doubt after all that is over I'll look into the Flyers or NHL more than before.

After all: When I look into other stadiums, if you could call them this way, G and Danny don't even increase the amount of people coming to the games. We have usually around 14k coming, no matter if your guys are in or not but other cities have even like 2700 people only watching their team and it didn't increase with all those NHL players we currently have in the DEL.

Another thing is: In our Eisbären fanboard we have a thread 'bout the NHL with news and so but that's usually it: posting a link to some news, many other fanboards from other teams don't even have a thread about the NHL.

How many people does the average arena hold over there? Sounds like Berlin's is a pretty decent size. Are all that large?

Hm, let's see:

~18.700 Köln
~14.200 Berlin
~13.600 Mannheim
~13.400 Düssdeldorf
~13.000 Hamburg
~10.800 Hannover
~ 8.200 Nürnberg
~ 8.100 Krefeld
~ 6.100 München
~ 5.800 Straubing
~ 5.000 Iserlohn
~ 4.800 Augsburg
~ 4.700 Ingolstadt
~ 4.700 Wolfsburg

in theory ... Hannover for example has trouble to get even 3.000 people in there (included guests)
