Hopefully it is just the patented Duchene Slow Start (tm)

Duchene scores!! Nice tip.

Looks like Staberg got an assist, not sure which defender took the shot.

Funny quote from Duchene about his goal.

It was something like "No one touched me. I could have had a coup of coffee in front of the goal. In the NHL I would have expected a cross check in the back of my head"

Duchene would've gotten two secondary assists today if it wasn't for Timrå defencemen fanning on the puck, failing to clear it, with Brunnström being Johnny on the spot getting the puck to Stålberg twice. Both plays leading up to Stålberg's goals were orchestrated by Duchene.

Great game by Duchene and Stålberg today. I haven't seen Matt play much before. Does he have the same style in the NHL? Very talented and with nice moves but a bit lazy on the back check? He disappears in some games as well but he is also still adjusting to new players and big ice.

Yup, MD had a very good game today. Shame 'bout the assists.

Probably should have drawn 3 or 4 penalties, but the refs weren't giving him anything.

Yeah. Refs are horrible. FHC dominated pretty much the entire game and still end up with fewer PP opportunities. It's like they want to prove that they don't judge in favor of the big cities and then do the opposite or something. At least the BP seems to be working again.

Great atmosphere when Henrik came on the ice.

I hope Frölunda has the guts to keep playing the NHL guys when Olimb and Axelsson is back. That could make it a very talented team for the first three lines.

Was at the game. Duchene's line was the best offensive line of the game (No ****, all three goals), while Lundqvist's line was the most even. All the talk about the "nhl-line" doing all the work is nonsense!

Mr Duchene is still a bit off positionally given the larger ice and took a lot of beating including one major hit. He still needs a few games to get used to the new ice surface and tactics used on it.

He did say though that he and Stålberg spoke before the game and decided to "play their game" instead of trying to adapting to the Swedish style and it obviously worked, specially at the last goal which was a typical Nhl-style goal.

Awesome game for the Frölunda fans, happy to have him here!

Swedish fans are loving Duchene. Avs fans are busy whining about him spinning too much.

Nice to see that he had another solid game.

I think most Avs fans are still loving Duchene. They just aren't posting on internet boards.

Nice to hear that Duchene had a strong game.

Avs_19 - while it may seem that some of us have an overly negative point of view of his play recently, I think with Duchene its not so much the fact that he's struggled of late as young player, but moreso the way in which he's struggled. What troubles me is seeing a player of his caliber look lost out on the ice, out of position on the backcheck and predictable/easily contained on the attack due to a poor sense of how to use his teammates. Similarly its troubling to see a young player fail to improve on his particular weaknesses over the course of 3 seasons.

I still have high hopes for the kid and really want him to put it all together, but I do think there's some cause for concern until proven otherwise.

And he has been defended time and time enough. Maybe people should stop complaining about him being criticized, most Avalanche fans seem glad enough to be on his side. When the NHL resumes, I hope he starts showing progress on his flaws.

Two assists, 14:55 of TOI for Duchene in 6-3 road win for Frolunda Sunday.

Frolunda took 9 minor penalties so he didn't play much.

Frolunda being shorthanded for almost a whole period seems a bit of a clue to me.

Duchene doesn't kill penalties I'm guessing.

Two primary assists by Duchene today in a 0-4 win, his line did one heck of game.
