What a garbage article, and the comments are an absolute joke. One person tries to bring some logic in and he gets called a ****wad or whatever it was. Stay classy.

Marincin's injury situation is confusing and I haven't seen anything on it yet. He came up into the stands and sat behind me about halfway through the second period, looked more or less fine. I thought it was really strange that he'd stay in the arena if he were hurt.

Minor league hockey is an odd and wonderful world.

Knee is worse obviously, but high ankle can still be bad. Hopefully Granlund makes a quick recovery.

Good news, apart from Brodin's reaction to the hit, it looked like a normal hockey play to me. It certainly sucks that he got hurt, but it didn't look like a head shot. And a broken collarbone, if accurate, would be tough to do if the head was the first point of contact.

Hope he makes a quick recovery too.

That's not even an article, merely a temper tantrum from some low rent poseur "journalist".

Good news for Granlund, just a sprain or a muscle pull or something. Glad to see he'll be back picking us apart again soon enough.

That's great news. As for Marincin a friend of mine keyed in on him on the replay of the game and he said on the 2nd shift he got hit to the head. If true the guy is 6'5" tall and that sounds like it could've been a cheap shot. I'll probably go and watch it and form my own conclusion. He continued to play the rest of the 1st though but didn't return for the 2nd. Sounds like a head injury to me. Martindale also got hurt yesterday, casualties from both squads. Hopefully today will be a cleaner game.

It also sounds like Lander might be a scratch due to being ill this morning.

I have to say after watching Hall play last night I think i can say he is the STRONGEST I've ever seen him. He was flying and that hit although unfortunate was text book and well timed. It might just be because its the AHL but he looks way bigger this year to me. If Hall can add that element to his game at the Next level look out. Its so great that most of our young core are such great friends on and off the ice. Hall could have gone anywhere he went where his TEAMMATES were. This is the mark of a strong leader. Go Oilers and Go Barons.

After Brodin, Granlund hurt last night, Aeros call up goon Corbin Baldwin from ECHL. He'll be in the lineup. It could get nasty tonight.

You'd have to think that Abney and this kid will have a go at it tonight. Abney is lucky that Kassian isn't in the AHL right now.

Also good to see that Hall won't be suspended.

Looks like these 2 have gone at it before (4 years ago) decision to Baldwin.

Meh, as long is this duster just fights Abney or someone else then I don't really care.

Can an ECHL goon even hit a guy like RNH or Eberle if he tried?

Tale of the tape:

Abney 6'5" 200lbs. DOB 5/23/91

Vs.

Baldwin 6'5" 215lbs. DOB 2/5/91

Has the idea of moving Teubert to forward been discussed? Paul Bissonnette made a similar transition after a few years of pro and it was his way of making the NHL. Could be an option if he can't consistently make good defensive plays, or enough good ones to make the NHL. If he's piling up the fights for protecting our young guys and being a positive presence for the team could it be an option?

And if you look, it's the author of the piece that is making all those foul retorts in the comments.

I really wish Kassian was in the AHL too. He recently signed a 2 year one way deal though so he's ineligible to play without going through waivers of course. I recently added the Kassassinator on PSN.

It sounds like that Baldwin kid is a big boy too, but Kassian is one tough cookie. I wish that the Oilers would bring back MacIntyre to deal with him.

This is one of those nights where I wish Bigos was progressed enough for the AHL. I wanna see anyone stand up to Manchild. Abney is tough, but I think Baldwin is gonna fill him in. Might actually be a better idea to let Esa the Second go after him and maybe lure him into an extra penalty.

From Russo:

Quote:
The Aeros are severely banged up on the blue line. Marco Scandella has a wrist injury, although it's thought to be minor. Kris Fredheim is hurt and likely sidelined another few weeks. The Aeros wanted to recall Kyle Medvec to replace Brodin from ECHL Orlando, but he is hurt. So they turned to an Orlando player named Corbin Baldwin, who is a tough customer that can take care of himself, but he's not some goon called up in response to last night's injuries.
That's what some have painted the recall as, but the Wild has few other defensemen right now. If the Wild wanted to call up a fighter to make a statement, it would have brought in Josh Caron. Baldwin and Sean Lorenz are basically the only D left right now to call up with Medvec hurt, so Baldwin was chosen.
Doesn't sound like the Aeros are trying to send a message, but either way their lineup gets tougher.

Probably not, but I'd be a lot more comfortable if Plante or Teubert was on the ice whenever he is

I'm sure that Baldwin wants to make a name for himself and get in good with the Aeros though.

And he did pretty damn good against the guy who would have been the tough guy if they wanted to bring up a goon.
