Did you? Sorry if I didn't answer before but no, they are not HD. I like our scoreboard as is I just wish Leipold would get with the program and get an upgrade to HD because it's been a couple year overdue.

If I recall right I believe one of them did fall a couple years ago but the arena had nothing going on at the time so there was no one there for it to fall on. I wanna say it was in either Nashville or Tampa but I can't remember, I'll have to try and find an article on it.

Thank you.

1996 though? Really? I could've sworn there was one that fell much more recent than that.

It appears that the Toyota Center, where the NBA team Houston Rockets and AHL team Houston Aeros play, is unveiling a massive scoreboard similar to the Lightning's new one this weekend. It will be 8 feet wider than Tampa's at 58 feet wide and 5 feet shorter at 25 feet tall while the 2 side panels will be 25 feet by 25 feet.

Getting to play under that thing tomorrow thing. God, is it ****ing huge compared to the old one.

I don't like how the sides stick out though.

Looks pretty good to me.

The last one was put in 2007. The company that constructed the parts and installed it went out of business. We were having problems maintaining it so it needed to be replaced sooner or later.

As you can see there were already a couple of small rectangle sections of the screen that had died and couldn't be repaired.
