There is a cap issue AND he didn't respect the 23 men roster at the trade deadline. You can have an unlimited number of players in the playoffs but you still have to respect the cap.

2 (3 vote penalty) 8

9 4

Was a thrilling series...... both were tight until the last few votes

Your Stanley Cup Final......

Voting starts NOW until 7pm EDT. I have a friend's ordination to attend tonight, so the Winner may be posted a little after 7, but that was the deadline for votes as posted, so it shall stay.

Will also update the draft thread shortly and get caught up on RFAs. As was mentioned earlier, trades can be discussed, but not sent in or announced until after the SC Winner is named tonight.

Listening to offers for Milan Michalek. I would like to add more depth to the left wing.

Yotes re-sign star goalie Mike Smith to a 3yr contract worth 4 million dollars a season. The deal also includes an NMC, keeping the talented netminder off the FA market.

"We know how teams like to overpay in FA for young stars, so we had to make the move to reward Mike well for his performance and proect our assets. Mike will be the starting goalie for the immediate future, and serve as a goos test to our rookies coming up to earn the spot from"

Rumours in the team say Tim Thomas is looking to test the FA market. Though if a team is dead-set on "getting into the negotiation early" i'll let his rights go for cheap

#9 is still being shopped to move down to acquire assets, or to get a scoring winger/Centre (would add for the right player). Picks #39, #53 and #69 are also on the block

Vancouver is a good team and made some strong deadline moves, but we beat them 2 years ago and we'll beat 'em again.
Too bad you're playing LA...

Disappointed in our playoff exit. Listening to all offers for all players

Alex Edler and Cory Schneider are the only untouchables.

UPDATE

4th overall :
Unless a huge offer, we will not move down with the pick. The only way we will move it is if a young winger with high ceiling is coming back in the trade (franchise potential).

10th overall :
Option 1) In a package with CGY 2013 2nd round pick to move up in the draft
Option 2) For a young roster player
Option 3) To move down but only for a significant offer

We will also listen to other offers.

PM!

- All trades must be sent to T_Cage and TribalPhoenix or else they are not valid.
- Once a trade is agreed upon, send it in BEFORE POSTING, and then you can announce it in the thread. A deal without a NTC or NMC does not have to be approved.
- If a trade is announced prior to it being sent in, it will be vetoed.
- ALL MOVES MUST BE SOMEWHAT REALISTIC. Washington will not trade Ovechkin, Pittsburgh will not trade Crosby, etc. The commissioners hold the power to veto any ridiculous trades.
- A trade involving a NTC or NMC must be sent in by BOTH GMs with a reasoning for the player to waive. The trade must be approved by BOTH trade managers prior to posting. Keep in mind it will only be on a rare occasion that a NTC or NMC is waived.
- If a trade involving a NTC or NMC is announced before approval, it will be vetoed.
- If a team does not have enough cap space to complete a trade that has been sent in, the trade will be vetoed.

Reminder

- TribalPhoenix will run the draft tomorrow night. You might want to send him your draft list.

- The salary cap for next season will be 65M$.

- Every team will have the opportunity to make an amnesty buyout.

- The length for new contracts will be limited at 7 years.

Will there be some sort of deadline for amnesty buyouts?

Coming in Hand-y

The have re-signed veteran Handzus. The deal is worth 2mil per year for two years.

Clowe, Armstrong, Douglas Murray look unlikely to remain in San Jose. Their rights can be traded, as well as all entry draft picks.

A note about the draft....

While we started doing 4 rounds last season, I'm going back to the 2 rounds for this draft but plan to keep up with 4 going forward.

The reason?

Strictly time and commitments. I've been at the office all day finishing a huge project for Monday morning, and will be back here all day tomorrow as well.

First round will be live draft, 5 minute time limit, starting at 7pm EDT. Second round will be automated.

We will be autoing the draft from www.nhldraftsite.com . If you don't like the rankings, send a list. If you don't send a list, then don't like your pick, I fully won't care.

Looking for a Top 3 forward or top 2 defenseman.

The 2nd pick is available, but only for a young roster player. Josh Bailey, Kyle Okposo, Michael Grabner, Nino Niederreiter and others are also available.

Vote . A top 2 goalie in the NHL, and the Flyers players love playing Boston(cough Simon Gagne cough).

Vote for back to back

I'll be doing the 3rd and 4th rounds by list for us this game.

Send your list in after the 2nd round and I'll autodraft the rest.

I would say from the draft to the end of the game, so no real deadline.
