Not sure if that had to do with coaching or personnel....probably a combination of both.

I think it was mentioned previously but I don't know if the Esks have had a coach that has the ability to consistently make the wrong decision at the wrong time.
Reed seems to have a knack for that.

The 7-11 record is reflective of the quality of the team and most assuredly the quality of the offence.
The record is not at all reflective of the team that the Eskimos are headed into the playoffs with. Several of the losses, and some of the one sided losses you mentioned occurred when we were scrambling to find D lineman and linebackers to throw out there. For a large part of the season it was the Sheritt show all day any day but not as much by design as who else did we have back there with game experience. Which is precisely what a plethora of injuries in key spots does to a team.

The offence hasn't been much, we know that. For much of the year Toronto didn't have anything going in that regard either. Although I'm sure you can trot out a meaningless QB efficiency rating which to me as has much validity as a Corsi rating when applied to the CFL.

I really don't know how you can deny that this team had the game won 4 times in situations where they were in FG position and found a way to screw the pooch. Its too bad, some bad breaks, kind of how things can go when you're getting the worst possible breaks. Our season series with Calgary alone is absolute indication of that. I mean we had potential game winning FG's on the tee three times. Twice with it being the last play of the game. If you want to talk about our record being reflective thats fine, you're the only one believing it. Well, probably PDO.

All I can say is that there had to be something that triggered this. He said or did something that made this happen. Timing is just to weird if he didn't. Can't wait to find out what led to this before this playoff game.

Wow. Did not see this coming at all.

I disagree with this move, but if that's what it takes to get Crandell and Reed fired as well, it needed to happen.

yeah very weird timing for sure... something happened to cause this... cause why not just wait for a few weeks until the season is over?

Exactly what I'm thinking. Whether a person is in support of Tillman or not this is fairly unprecedented timing. We got a playoff game in a week. This couldn't wait?

I hate to speculate but you have to think some event occurred.

Either that or Rhodes is in Tambo mode and is just now reacting to us trading RR.

Quote:
“I have spent considerable time looking at the future direction of this club and did not see Eric as a part of this team moving forward,” says Rhodes. “We will begin our search for a new general manager immediately and hope to have a successor in place by the end of the calendar year.”
This is sure to be a big distraction at least in these parts..

Merry Christmas PDO!

You'd think they'd wait until after. The team doesn't really need any distractions right now...

Bob Stauffer must have missed this "Wow". Either that or he got the Edmonton teams mixed up.

not shocked. Even though they made the playoffs they had a bad year. Also, they should have gotten more for RR

Didn't have a problem with him until that deal that sent our 1st for a K.

Probably the right move but I expected him to get one more chance next year. Any ideas/suggestions on who should replace him?

Agreed.

It cost us Ricky Ray, but this is a huge step in the right direction and for the general health of this franchise.
