Yeah I think it's wierd that the guys who played for team Canada can't dominate in the Swiss league the same way that team Canada dominates against, uh, hey how 'bout a new topic.
Team Canada usually have a pretty hard time against the swiss in particular tho
Maybe thats the reason why they dont dominate the swiss league that much

Yeah but we got Krueger now so were all good to go.
On a serious note though is Team Canada usually takes teams like the Swiss lightly and is seemingly forever doomed to poor memory. These players aren't very good students of the game and would know less about how past teams fared then the average fan. So they typically go into some games way overconfident figuring its a speedbump on the way to bigger games.
If you ever watched the NBA allstar US team play in the Olympics its the same phenomenon. They can make a game against Mongolia look interesting and then pedal to the medal against the few teams that can even play in the same ballpark. With Team Canada its much the same thing. Team playing according to its opposition.
Update:
Linus made one assist this weekend.
Yesterday he was 1+1 when Zug defeted Biel (Tyler Seguin and Patrick Kane's team btw).
The streak is intact if I count correct: 15 games in a row.

Haters gonna hate ;-)
Keep lighting it up Linus...you have worked yourself up to a 4th round pick!
TSN article about the line that Omark is on... http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=408534
Funny that the headline is only about the Red Wings duo. At least inside the article they do mention Omark being the 3rd (winged?? ) wheel on that line.

Of course they focus on Nhl players Z and Brunner, thats makes the story more intresting from a Nhl view. The problem the team has isnt producing goals, its that they leaking at defence. Omark and Brunner with Holden as C was very productive before Z arrived. Z is one of the top C in nhl and he brings alot defence/pk to the team also.
Omark is going to have another shot in the Nhl if he continues to produce at a regular pace, hes has now 16 games in a row with points and are second in the leuage.

Anyone want to take a stab at his trade value today? I would guess that it was somewhere between a bag of pucks and a 4th at the draft. Has to be better now!
Even if Detroit wants him, doubt we'll get more than a third for him at this point. This would really suck cause I'd have to start watching Detroit games.
All the more power to Omark if he can find convince an NHL team to take a flyer on him and (hopefully) throw the Oilers a low draft pick for his services. He may not have caught on with the Oilers, but that doesn't automatically preclude him from latching on somewhere else.

If some team would give you a third for Omark you move him. And I say this as a guy who like him more than most. But I doubt you get that high a pick.
Omark turns 26 in February, which means he is one year away from UFA status as of next summer. He is also waiver eligible next summer. He does not fit in well on this team so it is time to cut ties and let him get on with his career.
The swiss league restarted last night (after the national team break for Karjala Cup) and Omark scored 1 G and 2 (1st)A when his team won 5 - 3. Brunner 4 A and Zetterberg 1 G 1 A. Lets hope he can contiue the season in the same style!
Yeah that is odd. Brunner is also listed on the below link of NHL players playing overseas, yet Omark is not. I see no reason why Omark should be excluded by that list.

Pretty sure he said the opposite, was part of the reason he took Swiss league as he can get out a lot easier than the SEL.
From the specifics of the statement, it's more along the lines that Omark wouldn't return to the NHL if the lockout ends, unless he were to receive a contract.

Basically: he doesn't have an NHL contract.
Exactly what I meant. Thanks. If he were traded to another NHL team and received a contract offer he may return but as it stands now, when the lockout ends, he will remain in Switzerland. That is the likely reason he is not on the list referenced by the previous poster.

Yup, totally. I could see him catching on with another team. He's got skills. But theres no room for him here.
