On another note Pearce was in goal for Toledo, 17 saves on 21 shots..

By the way great save by McCollum moments ago to keep the game tied.

Really? Ferraro takes a cross-check from the blindside and gets unsportsmanlike for diving.. oookay.

Yeah not big fans of it over on redwingslive either. He sold it a little, but there is no way he isn't going down on that. Still not as bad as the Billins call.

Not much McCollum is going to do on that. Griffins find the loss again it looks like.

Finding the loss is exactly what this was. Could've gone either way, but to no surprise the other team finds a way while they don't. With some winning mentality(and goaltending) the Griffins could've been a top team to begin the season.

Looking forward to seeing how Mrazek does. Pearce had an impressive .810 SV% tonight. McCollum with the awesome .864 SV%. Mrazek could be our best prospect at goal, really hoping he's given a legit shot in Grand Rapids. He's our only legit goaltending prospect right now with Paterson being #2. Oh yeah, Paterson was drafted a couple months ago.

Cannot blame McCollum for this loss. I thought he played well, didn't get a whole lot of help. Almqvist with two bad giveaways the second being just downright awful. I doubt he is in the lineup tomorrow.

Callahan with another stupid penalty when all the momentum was on the Griffins side again tonight. I had no expectations for Pearce, right now Callahan is the most disappointing Griffins player for me.

Almqvist played terrible. Like was said before two goals completely on him, one he left his man in the slot he and Parkes went to the same man, and then coming up the ice on a PP Almqvist passes right to the same player who goes in on a breakaway. Rheault should buy Almqvist a steak dinner for making him look like Wayne Gretzky tonight.

i remember when yzerman was walking up to the podium to make that pick, bob mckenzie of TSN said he would pick markstrom.

too bad he was wrong. i think markstrom is generally rated the top goalie prospect among all teams.

markstrom was the next pick, by florida.

Even Hakan Andersson, who admitted he knew nothing about goalies, wanted to take Markstrom.

Not really he said if they were going goalie he would take Markstrom over McCollum. I know it is a slight difference but I think that part of the story gets lost sometimes. He didn't pound the table and say take Markstrom, he said if goalie is the direction take this guy. I don't think that was who he actually wanted selected there if you are reading between the lines on the story. Was still right on which goalie, but my guess is he had mentioned somebody else as his guy at that spot.

That's also not correct. He never said to take Markstrom over McCollum. He had never even seen McCollum play. McCollum is not part of this story at all, in fact. Andersson said that he thought Markstrom was good enough to be taken with the Wings 1st round pick, but then qualified that with his statement about not really knowing anything about scouting goalies. Bottom line, it's a non-factor in the goalie debate, even though many people use it as ammo that we should have taken Markstrom over McCollum.

I'm scared for Mrazek tonight, i have a feeling Griffins D will leave him out to dry as they usually do.

Texas is a bottom five team in the league in terms of offense.

I would deserve it for saying that, but I was just pointing out Texas is pretty bad in terms of what they have produced.

Dallas doesn't exactly have a stacked system, but they've got Eakin. Also NHL guys like Vincour and Petersen. So there's something to defend at least. Hoping Mrazek can get a few easy saves early on.

Mrazek first save is a breakaway.
