IMHO:
He has the size and defensive awareness to be a capable 4th liner after some honing in St John's, so that's all but a guarantee.
If he continues to improve his skating, although not as troubled as Scheifele with balance he is very heavy footed, it would probably put him at a similar spot as Telegin -- where if he can translate his offensive game to pro he could be a decent 2nd liner, if not he'll probably be a solid 3rd liner--.

TNSE seems to be very smart with how they've instructed and directed their prospects.
They told Scheifele to take it easy and concentrate on gaining size and skating mechanics.
They sent Melchiori and Lowry to Gary Roberts summer training camp, where Stamkos, Neal, Skinner and a few other top end youngsters go. We've all seen the positive results this year of the camp on Lowry; how it pushed him to the next level. Lowry hasn't really talked about it but Melchiori has:
Quote:
“It was a really good experience,” said Melchiori, noting that Winnipeg Jets director of player development Jimmy Roy helped him connect with Roberts. “It’s unique training, a little different than anything I’ve ever done before. The most different thing was the diet. We had meals catered in there from an organic farm that were tailored to your post-workout needs.”

Being dedicated to nutrition and working out intensely, Melchiori was able to get leaner during the summer, slimming down to 210 from the 221 pounds he played at last season.

As a result, Melchiori, who was already a strong skater, has impressed with his quickness and agility, while not sacrificing his strength.

“(Roberts) wanted to get my feet faster, because he knew I was going to obviously be playing at a higher pace this year,” said Melchiori. “I’m just trying to tighten up my game defensively and play at a high pace. I need to be able to bring it every night and play my absolute best.”

At MTS Centre?

2nd to 3rd line tweener is my guess at this point. Depends on how his development progresses. He certainly has the size (and uses it) to make a difference.

BAR A. Camara, (12) (M. Scheifele), 4:28
BAR M. Scheifele, (9) (A. Camara), 5:10

Scheifele credited with a goal and an assist already tonight; the radio guy seems to think that will be changed though so we'll see I guess.

Not sure; I turned the game on right after he scored (and while the replay was showing I'm guessing) and then the Sault Ste. Marie radio guy mumbled that Scheif was credited but the score sheet would probably be changed!?!?

Kosmachuck with a goal and an assist tonight too ... didn't watch all of last night's game but he really impressed me. Quick , hungry , decisive , really nice hands , anticipation and he is gritty , will work for the puck. Love his instincts and follow through.

He will never be big but he can add muscle and that will be more than sufficient.

Ok, the goal wasnt changed during the intermission so it probaby wont be now.

Edit: Mark adds another just for good measure.

Love hearing how Scheifele is making the rest of the OHL his personal play toy. It's very encouraging that he seems to be dominating night in and night out this year.

I love that Schief is playing well this year and hope he continues to grow as a player and sticks it to all those people that think he's far worse than Couturier. I love his game and really can't wait to see him do well at this year's WJrs.

I am just happy with his steady and clear progression. He has gained size, his skating has improved, he is helping his team win, his game is very good in all zones now, and most importantly he continues to have that hunger to improve even playing in the OHL again. Really hard not to cheer for him as well.

Improving his game in all zones is the key. I really feel that he will end up like a Zajac type player with more offensive upside.

Stats done for today
Quite a few goals...
Some from usual suspects (Scheifele, Kosmachuk)
Some from unusuals (Sol, Saponari)
And some who are hit and miss (Olsen)

I'm really starting to think Olsen was a great late round steal
