So you think it is hypocritical for a player that doesn't want to be targeted by dirty plays to throw a clean check?

That makes no sense.

I said with an edge. It's a borderline hit. But you don't play reckless after whining to the media you are getting targeted. You shut your mouth, play the way you like and if you want to throw some hits like that, that's fine but don't complain when other players do the same.

Hall didn't complain about players throwing hard, clean checks.

Wow, some people on here are ridiculous. It was nothing more than a hard, clean hit resulting in an injury. Hall didn't charge, that's how he always skates around the ice. He didn't hit Brodin's head, that has already been established.

Any semi-physical player would have made that hit. I feel terrible for Brodin, but he was unprepared and lunged for the puck at the last second.

Hall wasn't complaining about people targetting RNH, Eberle, and Schultz with clean hits on the forecheck. He actually wasn't complaining at all, a reporter asked him a question and he gave an honest answer.

Here's the quote (largely in reference to chippy play from the Aeros):

“Against Houston, remember we were going against two NHL defencemen on that team, too. It was definitely like playing them in the NHL.

“But I do think there is more liberties being taken against us, hacking and slashing and that sort of stuff. To me, it just amps me up.

“But Nuge takes that high stick and guys are playing us a lot tougher.”

Hard, clean hit =/= knees, and stick work.

Furthermore, Hall was whining earlier in the week as evident here:

http://twitter.com/HockeyGalindo/sta...87992897814528

about being teams targeting elite players and he goes and does something stupid like that? He's going to have to keep his head up and his head on a swivel.

As Wild fans, we're used to this sort of BS and I think partly because Shanahan didn't do anything (nor apparently will the AHL) teams will continue to take liberties and runs at Wild players/Aero players because why not?

It's just frustrating as a Wild fan. If this happened to a guy like Gardiner or Schultz? The board would be flooded with Leaf/Oiler fans whining about how their team is being targeted and how unfair it is and how the player should get a suspension. The Wild have had a TON of injuries due to very questionable hits the last two years and how many suspensions have resulted in it? I think 1 and Clutter didn't even get injured.

BTW here's the article: http://www.edmontonsun.com/2012/10/2...-target-in-ahl
When you start with the premise that it was a head check when it wasn't it renders your whole post moot. If your point is Wild fans are just as whiny as Oilers fans I can agree with that.

I think i read "a few weeks" for Granlund and "several weeks" for Brodin. Scandella's wrist is bunk, too. Zucker is playing tonight--if he's 100% that's only 3 of our top 5 prospects injured!

Cody Hodgson out tonight for Rochester. Was apparently injured a couple games ago, but played through it yesterday.

Edit: Doesn't appear to be a serious injury. Shouldn't be sidelined for long.
Also, Connor Knapp making his first start tonight in goal for the Amerks.

Well I sure expected Granlund to have one very messed up knee after watching some of that video last night. Good to hear both guys didn't lose their season from this. Hopefully tonight's game will have zero injuries for both teams. That said, I'd still feel more comfortable wrapping some Aeros players in bubble wrap. They can't lose anymore guys from freak injuries.

The last two games haven't been great, but that did come on the heels of 6 great games, so I wouldn't really worry. He's still piling on points even in his bad games.

Lindholm was exceptional, tonight.

Holland and Palmieri had very strong games as well. Holland with 2 goals and an assist. Palmieri with 1 goal and 2 assists.

Another 2 assists for Schultz so far tonight. It's late in the 3rd. I could be off but I believe he's on a 9 game point streak.

Mrazek 29/30 in his debut. Holy crap is he a huge upgrade in net. He's so confident too, even in his very first game.

OKC has struggled to hold their leads against the Aeros this weekend. Last night they blew a 3-0 lead, but scored late in the game to secure the win. Tonight, they had a 3-0 lead in the 3rd period, yet the Aeros came back and won in the shootout. And they did that without Granlund and Brodin.

And without Scandella too.

Sounds like defense is a problem. Not entirely unexpected, is it?

Still, I fear what the Oilers will look like once those kids are grown up. I just didn't expect them to give up a lead like that in such a short time late in the game. They had a lot of momentum late in the game last night. I didn't think the Aeros would play dead or anything, but losing Brodin and Granlund certainly changes the dynamic a bit.

Really looked like a game changer tonight for the Griffins season. They are a team that has built leads and blown them. His big momentum keeping saves and solid play makes them a totally different team going forward if he can keep it up, which I think he can.

They would be doomed without Schultz. Teubert and Plante are both looking like big time busts. Ringwald and Zahn are scrubs. To be fair, they are missing Brandon Davidson and Martin Marincin, 2 members of their top 4 I'm assuming.
