I noticed hockeyfans.ch informing that defender Philippe Seydoux is coming to Finland next year. Can you tell me what kind of player is he? HF's description tells he is "tough as nails", but he seems a bit lanky to be a punisher. Seydoux should gain weight, unless he already has during the season.

He is a very promising player (took part in many junior world championships) and played with Kloten last year, where speed is valued highly, with slightly less emphasis on punisher qualities. However, it would be wrong to say that means he isn't tough as nails. He might not be the bull who charges you and tramples you down, but he won't leave you alone till he's got the puck and stand up again and fight if he takes a hit.
Only one defenceman of Kloten played as many games (55) as Seydoux, who is no older than 21. And while Philippe was on the ice when 19 goals were scored against Kloten, he was also on the ice when 27 were scored by Kloten.

there were some rumours in april, that he might leave salzburg, but as i remember to have read somewhere, he still has a contract for next year in salzburg (whatever this means in sports these days )

I think there is still a chance, but it is very slim. There were rumors Setzinger demanded a one-way contract to sign with Nashville and no player out of the austrian league will get a one-way contract in his first season in NA.
However, the fact that Nashville does no longer have his rights and he is UFA might improve his chances a bit. But to me it does not look like he really wants to try it.

Anyway, he is in Montreal and on the ice daily with a goalie coach to get ready for next season. the guy in charge of teh goalie school (Vinnie Reindeau) is friends with a guy I coach with so he asked me to get on the ice and be a shooter.

"Sp" seems to be Games Played In.
"GS" seems to be Games Started.
I can't figure out what "Ers," "BS," "SB," and "SBRS" mean.
"Min" is Minutes Played.
"GT" is Goals Against.
I can't figure out what "ilT" means.
"GTD" is Goals-Against Average.
"MinGT" seems to be a calculation of how many minutes elapse, on average, between goals scored against a goaltender. Using Reto Berra's stats as an example, his "Min" is 478 as of 25 November 06, his "GT" is 28, and his "MinGT" is 17. 17 times 28 = 476. Is my assumption correct?
"SO" is Shutouts.
"S," "U", "N" are Wins, Ties,and Losses.
"S%" and "N%" are the percentages of games won and lost vs. the number of games started.
"T," "A," and "SM" are goals (Töre), Assists, and Penalty Minutes (Streifminuten).
Any help you can offer in interpreting these stats will be greatly appreciated. Also, if there's any place where more complete stats are listed, even in German (French or Italian, or any other language), I'd appreciate a link. I'm specifically trying to find a place where I can keep track of Berra's save percentage on a regular basis, and the one necessary input (shots against) I need does not seem to be tracked on the hockeystats.ch site.
Of course, any updates on the NLB -- CGK Lions, Reto Berra, and Luca C u n t i specifically -- will be most appreciated.

As for other sites for stats, try http://www.eurohockey.net/players/. Less stats (only the common ones, likle gaa and pct) but therefore they show the complete "history", including stats for the national teams.
There seem to be 8 teams in the Austrian league. Will they all get to the playoffs? I may have the opportunity to visit Klagenfurt in March so if they're in the playoffs it would be great to see a game or two. Thea team is seventh in the league at the moment.

no. the first 4 teams get to the playoffs. klagenfurt have no chance to get in but if you're there you could drive to villach. it's very near from klagenfurt. it will take you about 30 minutes with a car to drive to villach.
