How would the rest of the league feel about me getting rid of the Regular Season Move and the Injury Trade?
In effect, we'd have one Offseason Move and one Trade Deadline Move. 4 Trades in one season is not at all what i planned for this league when i first made it. I want trades to be a meaningful thing to GMs, not some quick fix or something to do just because you can.
If any changes are made, it would be the removal of the Regular Season and Injury trades.
I would be all for the removal of the injury trade, not so sure about the regular season trade. 3 trades seems like a solid number. Just off the top of my head, for the 2011-12 offseason to the season Blackhawks had 3 trades (Brouwer, Morrison, Oduya), which seems to be a pretty typical number. 3 trades would seem like a lot if it's always 1st line players getting traded, but if some of the trades are being used to acquire a 2nd pairing d-man or a penalty killing forward, it doesn't seem like as much.

In GM Connected its usually, if not always, 1st line players being moved. 3 trades, thats potentially 12 roster players being moved around in one season..THAT never happens in real life.
Ok. If you've missed whats happened since Friday, here's what i'm doing...
DNF vs CPU: GMs, myself included, have been quitting games against the CPU. Its cheating. There's no other way to put it. Its not going to be a part of our league anymore. I've temporarily booted a lot of you from the league to reset your DNF vs CPU back to 0%. I still have to kick out
From now on, your DNF vs CPU is never allowed to be higher than 0%. If this happens, you'll be given 1 warning. After that warning, i'll kick you from the league again, resetting your DNF vs CPU back to 0%. If it goes above 0% again, you lose the privilege to play CPU games for the rest of the season. If your DNF vs CPU goes above 0% at any point after that, you'll lose the ability to play CPU games for as long as your in The Bluth Company.
does your DNF % go up if you lose internet connection mid game? JW

I think it's on the right track but I think the trade deadline move is the one that has gotta go.
Really what you are looking at is 1 trade during the season and 1 trade in the offseason. I'd rather have the flexibility of making that trade whenever I want during the regular season than having to make it at the deadline.
I kind of like the way it is now with Deadline Move, Draft Day Trade, Reg Season and Injury Trade. It's not as easy to trade especially when you got an injury without over paying. In real life there's always superstars being rumored to be traded but we hardly see it here. Our trade thread has slowed down immensely lol
Getting rid of the regular season trade would be a horrible idea. There are many examples of teams making moves before the trade deadline, I did it last year, and sometimes teams need to make a trade to potentially save their season. The deadline is too far into the season for teams to have a chance to make a move before they're completely out of it.
Especially since i added the Offseason Move i think i might get rid of Injury Trades all together. Thats potentially 4 trades in one season. Too many.
In a way the deadline deal is like an injury trade.. At the deadline you know if you have a guy injured long term going into the playoffs, and you can make a deal to replace that player
Therefore i agree that the injury trade should be removed
hugh and here i was thinking that my 78 overall goalie would be a problem this season. you like those high wrist shots in the slot. my goalie is 6'6 end of story

I also like deking on breakaways but that wasn't gonna happen against you
And I can't shoot low or else I will probably be accused of "rebound glitching"

I like the amount of trades we have now, everyone in this league is pretty vigilant about calling out bad trades. I don't think any team has lost to much of its identity yet which is what you want to avoid in leagues like this.
sooo bored finished all my games yesterday lol cant wait for the advance, Avs back on track winning 6 straight after going starting 3-4-0 in the first sim period.

I cant wait to play, i feel a hot streak coming on, gonna shake up the lines and make some things happen. Shinkaruk is going to show why he was drafted first overall..
agreed! If he trades crosby next im going to go nuts, already trading Malkin wasn't the greatest idea. Trading Crosby, Malkin and Sutter would be so dumb. I dont care how many assets you get NO ONE should TRADE BOTH CROSBY AND MALKIN.
