GM Murray makes first moves before beginning of season
Newly signed players Cam Barker and Gilbert Brule will be a big help to the Devils this season
Yesterday in a press conference held at the Prudential Center to announce some changes to the roster that he had done in his first couple days as GM. He then shocked the media when he announced that he had signed risky free agents Cam Barker and Gilbert Brule, both having had less than par results last season. "I think they both need a second chance," said Murray, "Cam will fit perfectly in the top 4 defensemen slot, while Gil will be great on the third line."
The second and final move he stated at the press conference was a trade. Bryce Salvador and the Devils 2013 third-round pick were traded to Detroit in exchange for 2012 draftee Martin Frk. Frk, 19, was selected in the second-round when he potentially could have been in the first. "He's a player of the future, meaning he needs a little time to develop," Murray told us when we asked about the move, "Bryce asked me to trade him so I complied with what he wanted and got a deal done." Frk will be playing the season in the QMJHL on the Halifax Mooseheads.
This is the lineup going into the start of the 2012-2013 season.
Ilya Kovalchuk "C" - Travis Zajac - Patrik Elias "A"
Adam Henrique - Danius Zubrus - David Clarkson
Matthias Tedenby - Gilbert Brule - Bobby Butler
Vlad Zharkov - Jacob Josefson - Steve Bernier
Henrik Tallinder - Adam Larsson
Anton Volchenkov - Cam Barker
Andy Greene "A" - Marek Zidlicky
I have a five 4 1/2 star prospect because I was picking them up in the draft and didn't realize the AI weren't taking prospects. So I did some trades(overpaying big time since I had a lot of good prospects) Got Seguin for Galchenyuk and a few other descent prospects(3 1/2* and 4*) Then traded Pavelec and 2 1st rounders for Rask. So far I'm 2-1-1 with my original team, I hope my new acquisitions make my team better. I'm going to try to play every game as well.
If you put players in the wrong position will they still progress like normal?
I got Mackinnon(80) in the AHL and Galenchuck (sp)(85) and Granlund (85) as my centers already! I dont want to put Mackinnon on the 3rd line but can I put him on as a winger?
Nashville's leading goal scorer Patric Hornqvist scores against the Winnipeg Jets, Shea Weber's new team.
So far, it looks like trading Shea Weber to the Winnipeg Jets has turned out to be the right decision for the Nashville Predators. While he is playing well in Winnipeg, the Preds seem to be better off without him. They currently sit in first place in the Western Conference with 35 points. Evander Kane (acquired in the Weber trade) has had a fantastic season so far, recording 25 points in 27 games. Sergei Kostitsyn is behind him with 22 points, then Patric Hornqvist has 21 points. It's a three-way tie for fourth place in the Predators scoring race with Martin Erat, Daivd Legwand, and Colin Wilson all tied at 19 points.
The team's new number one defenseman, Zach Bogosian, has been solid with 17 points and a +4 rating. His partner Jonathan Blum is only 2 points behind him and is a +5. Pekka Rinne has been strong in net thus far, with a GAA of 2.26 and a save percentage of .926%
I edited Yakupov to make his development more realistic, so he'll be 86 in a year or two.
Lippojoki is a created player, he'll hit 90 overall pretty quick, with 20 goal potential because of his shot.
Lehner will develop slow, but I expect 85 or so in 3 years.
Jonathon Blum led the Preds blue line in scoring with 48 points this season.
It's been a fantastic turnaround for the Nashville Predators. After losing Ryan Suter, they were not expected to make the playoffs, and critics were still skeptic of the team's ability after the Shea Weber trade last offseason. There is no argument, however, that the Predators have now become a powerhouse in the Western Conference. No trades were made during the season at all. The only addition that GM Deku Scrub made to the organization was picking up Tyler Ennis on waivers, who finished the season in the AHL. The Preds finished the 2013-14 season with a record of 49-26-7, good for 105 points and the playoff seed in the West.
The Preds will be facing their biggest division rival, the Detroit Red Wings, in round one of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

So downloaded Matt G's rosters on operationsports before I started my Oilers Dynasty. The rosters were pretty accurate but I edited a few prospects to help them reach full potential.
Anyways I'm just beginning my 2015-2016 season after losing in the semi finals against the eventual stanley cup champions the Columbus Blue Jackets.
I have made many trades so I'm not going to list any of them. The whole roster is pretty much turned over and is very young and stacked. Still haven't won a cup yet though. And I play about 8-10 games during the year and all playoff games.
Don't really have that many prospects, but drafted Aaron Ekblad last year. Hes a 72 right now and 4.5 gold stars.
Oh and McDavid is sick in this game. He was an 83 overall in his rookie year where he put up 27 G 46 A for 73 P in 82 GP. He jumped to an 89 so I cant wait to play with him this year.
Anyways let me know what you think and I'll continue to post updates.
Cheers for now.

Its been two seasons since I won the cup with the Flames organization in my debut year. The team lacked a #1 center, top pairing defense and true top six talent. I have filled those wholes through trades, free agent signings and drafting top end talent. Thornton was acquired through a trade, Kessel was signed during FA, and Pulock was drafted. With these players coming in I've managed to keep key players in my first Stanley Cup win apart of my team. Iginla, Kiprusoff, Cammalleri, Backlund, Stajan, Bouwmeester, and Bitz are still on my team from the past championship win. During the next two seasons Bärtschi, Murray, Seimens, Brodie, Ivring, and Horak would all join the team from either the AHL or straight out of the CHL. The team is entering the playoffs and many of the players. Like J.Thornton are hoping for there first Stanley Cup ring. (I sim the season and playoffs)
Small GM connected update for my team.
Just lost Iginla for 23 games (Collarbone) in a 2-6 loss to the Rangers (who are currently near the bottom of the eastern conference). The team seems to be playing better without him although I've only played one game since he's been injured.
There could be a proper update if I feel like posting one when I get home.
Current plan: If prospects develop horribly in GM Connected like I've heard, I might be ****ed. At least I'm already the Islanders.

So even though I posted this team just yesterday I went on a gaming binge last night and today(first day off in awhile). I simmed a bunch of games so I could advance a few seasons to achieve the team i wanted.
I made some huge trades in the past year or so. Sending out Hall, RNH, Tangradi, Galchenyuk, Teubert & Blacker. I won the cup last year for the first time in my dynasty. Connor McDavid won the Art Ross putting up 32 points in 23 game. He put up 52 goals for 98 points during the year.
Anyways I finally have the roster I was hoping for and decided to stop simming and start playing every single game. I will post regular updates after every couple of games.
First-Seeded Preds Choke Against Underdog Red Wings
Red Wings forward Drew Miller celebrates a go-ahead goal with his teammates in front of Preds goaltender Pekka Rinne.
They started off a the series with a bang, but after game one, the Nashville Predators had trouble holding off the Detroit Red Wings' offense. After a shutout to begin the series, the Preds defense fell apart. They were in it until the end, but in games 5 and 6, Jimmy Howard played outstanding for the Wings. It was a painful way to lose, with the Wings being division rivals. GM Deku Scrub has publicly stated that he is looking to improve the team's defense for next season. "Pekka is a fantastic goalie," he said. "...but he can't do it all himself. Our defenders didn't do a good job in that series."
Game 1: 5-0 Win
Game 2: 4-3 Loss
Game 3: 4-3 Loss
Game 4: 5-2 Win
Game 5: 4-2 Loss
Game 6: 2-0 Loss
Have you guys Sven Erixon in 2014 draft? If so, how does he develop? And is there any gems how could be drafted in 20-40 selection? Eisenberg and Verrier (or what their names were), are they good?
Also goalie could be pretty good. I'm having now Juvonen (3,5 stars) and Wedgewood (3 stars) although. Thomas retired, who was my starter in this season. Now I'm having Frazee-Hedberg-Wedgewood in goalie, and Wedgewood as only who is signed also for the next season.

If you need a good goalie, any goalie drafted top 10 will usually become a starter and a top 5 goalie in the draft will become an elite goalie. This is what I realized since I drafted 2 goalies with a top 10 ranking and they both turned out to be starters, and every new elite goalie I see, I look at their draft info and they were picked up in the top 5 of their draft year.
Drafted Mitchell Eisenberg (3 stars, 61 overall) and signed Dan Girardi and Jussi Jokinen in off-season. Also traded for Jonas Enroth. My team as for now (in last season I was 3rd in East, but lost in first round of playoffs, mainly because Kovalchuk injured before poffs):
Ilya Kovalchuk (90) – Travis Zajac (85) – Chris Stewart (82)
Adam Henrique (83) – Derek Stepan (81) – Jussi Jokinen (81)
Dustin Penner (79) – Jacob Josefson (75) – Harri Pesonen (78)
Mike Hoeffel (73) – Ryan Carter (72) – Vladimir Zharkov (73)
Henrik Tallinder (87) – Adam Larsson (86)
Andy Greene (80) – Dan Girardi (86)
Anton Volchenkov (82) – Derek Morris (83)
I have played 6 games (4-2-0) so far into my Chicago Be-A-GM Mode with a pretty "overpowered team", heres the lines:
Kovalchuk is pretty much dominating with 6+4 in 6 games.
