Galchenyuk looks more like 6'2 to me.

You invite him to camp to give him a taste of it if this CBA stuff gets settled. It may only be a 1 week camp anyway, he may not even miss an OHL game.

I know some people cry about it but I love his flexibility on LW/C. He has been playing left wing on the Sting now but team USA might use him as a center. Reminds me of Damphousse going to center after Turgeon was traded. That sort of flexibility is so useful.

He alternated between LW and C at the start of season before settling at centre for a few games. Lately he's been playing RW.

I agree with your point about his flexibility. It's good that he's getting experience at all three forward positions. Especially since he's probably going to have to play on the wing when he first enters the league, so it's good that he already has experience, and has looked damn good doing it.

Now if we can find a way to shut those people who jokingly call everyone a bust or add bust to every prospect name.

I completely agree with this too by the way, seeing as how we alrdy have DD , pleks and eller, having gallys flexability on the wing could be a luxury for us to start out his career

Its rly too bad because of ellers night and day complex between center and wing, now everyone thinks its like that for everyone, but im pretty sure gallys different

If malkin can play both no prob, then so can others

So 6 points less in 1 more game playing on an average team in the toughest league in Canada? No he is a bust.

But seriously look at the stats:
OHL
1.Jenner: 18 games, 14 goals, 14 assists and 28 points.
8.Galchenyuk: 17 games, 10 goals, 15 assists and 25 points.
QMJHL
1. Currie: 18 games, 18 goals, 18 assists and 36 points.
5. Grigorenko: 16 games, 12 goals, 19 assists and 31 points.

Galchenyuk is closer to leading his league in points than Grigo is. Gally also has a weaker team to play with and takes his defensive responsability more seriously. Gally is 10 times the player Grigorenko is.

I don't know if he's 10x better, but i agree with the sentiment and the way it was presented.
Perhaps I would've said that given the circumstances Galy is a better showing than Grigs, arguably.

And why does Malkin play both? Because they have Sidney freaking Crosby too. He wouldn't have even been tried on wing on probably any other team.

I know he isnt 10 times better I was just using that a a figure of speech.
But he is on a weaker team, tougher league, coming back from injury, playing better defensively and constantly switching position.

Didn't we see on the highlights that Gally is indeed 6'2' 205lbs?

Malkin has moved to wing in favour of Jordan Staal playing as his center. It wasn't just because of Crosby.

Malkin plays on the wings at times because he's very effective there, I don't get where this idea that your best player needs to play as a center at all times thing is coming from.

Playing both won't ruin you if you show you are comfortable doing so, if anything it's good to see for power play tactics.

Same argument though, PIT had unmatched center depth with ridiculous quality, so they could afford to play Malkin on Crosby's or Staal's wing at various times.

All I am saying is if you have the high end center depth PIT had or BOS has in the Seguin case, yeah, it makes sense. We don't. #1 center is the most important forward you can have.

I'm watching this one and you really aren't missing anything so far...

Penalties galore and Saginaw has dominated the special teams confrontation so far. Gally barely touched the puck.

If Sarnia could be as well coached as Saginaw.... man...

Gally with his behind the back pass and it almost went back in his own net from the turnover.
