I'm from Quebec and I remember the 2 boston lost against the Habs before the lock out.
I watched the oilers-sharks series and it's the same story over and over on thornton.
It's not that he plays bad. It's just that he goes from an All-Star in the regular season to a decent player in the playoffs. He'll have flashes of brilliance but never really put forth the overall effort that a team requires from their stars.
The irony in this series defeat is that all the complaints that have littered SJ's boards during games 3-6 of the EDM series are eerily similar to the complaints on our board for games 2-5 of the NAS/SJ series. Yet we were dismissed as ignorant whiners the entire time.
Oh, I agree. That was my first thought last night as I came to the boards after watching the game. "Oh, the officiating was weak...etc." My favorite thing throughout one of their threads about officiating is how posters from all over North America are saying that while there were some missed calls, that the officiating overall seemed to benefit the Sharks.
Oh, well...we lost in the first round for a number of reasons and now the team that knocked us out is sitting out too. The organization is hard at work trying to prepare ourselves for another run next season and me...I'm rooting for a Buffalo-Edmonton final. The "New NHL" where small markets can compete for and win the Stanley Cup!
