Isn't Dubs the Oilers player rep with the PA now though? I thought I read something near the end of the year last year that he asked Horcoff if he could take over and he said he could.

I thought Horcoff was a big guy within the PA? At least that's what I recall people saying a few years back when they fired Paul Kelly.
Simmonds facing discrimination in Europe. I know this news is a little old but Puck Daddy had a piece up that included some quotes from Smid who plays on the same team with Simmonds.

The link nabob put up on the last page says "Dubnyk took over from Tom Gilbert as Edmonton’s NHLPA rep".
Horcoff was the player rep before that.
Theo Peckham @PECKS24
Finally might get on the power play ahhaha #SFBulls
Ryan Clowe has been practicing with the club too, word is that there is some complications with him signing because they are the Sharks affiliate or something like that.

Here's a link, I read some blog before but I think they were speculating, and their speculation was wrong. Turns out he doesnt know if he wants to risk getting injured in the last year in his contract or put out someone on the roster.
EDIT:
Apparently Jonathon Quick is heading down to Manchester to play for the Kings AHL affiliate on a rehab stint... Good thing the Barons don't play them soon.

I think it would be a good test for the kids down there to play against Quick.
Read an article on guys get injured during the lockout. Talk about how teams could potentially terminate deals.
Makes you wonder why a guy like Corey Potter is even risking playing considering he probably never gets a deal again that pays him 200k let alone the 800k or whatever he is currently making.
Smid played on Karjala Cup for Czechs; looked solid from what I saw, good positionally, always going for the body. Was pretty calm with the puck, though he didn't get anything done offensively.
Might have something to do with that the Czechs play teh most passive system ever, no offense unless it's counterattack.

Well, Smid wasn't much of an offensive defenseman to begin with. His role is Defensive Defenceman, tough as nails guy who will put his body on the line to make sure the puck does not go in the net, with a little bit of offense. Not much, maybe a goal or two every 10-15 games or so.

Wow, I'm quite pleased with Hemsky's production to date. Where is he in terms of league scoring? Smid at 0.5+ppg makes me wonder just how good that league is right now though

0:48 - Finishes while crashing to the net off a pass from Krejci:
0:52 - Nice finish on the partial break here, went upstairs right side:
1:15 - Back to his old tricks on the PP = cross-ice sauce past the defenseman for his teammate to put it in
A montage of some of his exploits at the WHC earlier this year:
I really hope that Hemsky comes back healthy and motivated. One of the most exciting players to watch. I'd really like him to remain an Oiler for as long as he is productive.
