I'm still super jealous we were one pick away from getting this kid, he is a true stud. Him and Tavares could have been the best 1-2 behind Sid-Geno I think.

I don't know if you remember the last Habs/Isles game last year...it was on St Patrick's day on a Saturday night. The Habs had a PP with like a minute left in a tied game that carried into OT. If we score on that PP, you guys pick ahead of us. That's how close it was. The Isles went on to win in the SO.

I remember that, I was rooting so hard for us not to score and the giant tank vs not tanking debacle, ugh... I will tank that season again if I have to do it all over, it was worth it.

Or maybe TT. But for me it was always either Gally or Grigorenko and I would not have it any other way (and still not)

I don't remember that specific game but isn't that something eh!? I'm not suprised, that's the Isles' luck.

Those were lottery picks - a different outcome in that game could very have changed nothing.
Good to see Galchenyuk finding his groove. Really was hoping he would have been available to the Leafs at 5th overall, not that I would have counted on Burke drafting him though (would have been interesting to see at least). I like the Toews comparison best...
It's too bad that he's not eligible for the Subway Series. I would have loved to see him play with some talented linemates to really see what he can do.
When he's on his game he plays a lot like Jagr the way he protects the puck down low. The closest compairson for him is Bobby Ryan, Ryan however, has more "baby-fat?" while Gally will have more muscle. Ryan does have slicker hands and is more creative though.
I see Galchenyuk, if he reaches his potential, putting up Toews like numbers (But will not have half the defensieve game). You can expect him to be around ~70 points year-in and year-out IF he reaches his potential. A #1C, but not elite.
To the poster who says he will probably play around 230, are you kidding me, do you know how big that is? He will probably be 6'1 210-15 MAX in the NHL. He seems to have a sort of hunch back kind of like Lucic, not sure if anyone else has noticed that, it looks like he pushes his head forward and has a tiny neck.
Yes, and I guess we will find out come draft day. If Gally does indeed get drafted by Habs, I will keep a Habs avatar of Gally as my profile picture for one entire year.
I guess promises are meant to be broken aren't they?
