Lets face it, the Cubs are going nowhere at least for now. Best thing Epstein can do is continue tanking for the short term and get the highest picks he can get. Trade Garza, Marmol and the other old players and let the prospects develop.

Shocked ND pulled that out. Go Irish. Not a college football fan, but Notre Dame and Northern having good teams makes me follow somewhat.

Duke is playing Georgia State? LOL
That's where my fiance goes. Their athletes look like middle schoolers when I meet her on campus. Although that can't be as bad as when GSU played @ Alabama, during their first year of ever having a football program.

IUBB opens up Friday against Bryant, and then IUFB plays their biggest game in program history Saturday vs Wisconsin. Looks like I'll be spending a lot of time this weekend at Joe's on Weed.

Yup, first game before the tournament of hell.
They might crush them by just as many points

Josh Hamilton apparently wants 175M for 7 years, 25M per. Who is going to sign him? I'm thinking Brewers.

I think he'll get 4/120 from someone. Dodgers if they dump Ethier.
Please, don't say to trade for him.

Ethier is wayyyy overrated. No thanks. I'd rather sign Hamilton than pick him up. Yeah, I think he is going to get a few 4/120ish offers.

I see stuff time-to-time about Hamilton coming to the Cubs.
1. The Cubs are not spending the money he requires.
2. He hates day games.
3. We play so many day games, giving him free time at night.

I know we won't sign him. I just hope the Brewers don't get him. As far as him going out, I believe that it would be best that he did and tried to live a normal life because drinking was not his problem and the heat he takes for having a beer has to be more detrimental than just letting him have the ****ing beer.

The guy is a like .260 some hitter in the day.
That said, day games in Texas are a whole different ball game from the games in Chicago.

He's a black hole in the lineup against lefties. Blech. Ironically, I used to like him.
I think we'll end up with Pagan.

Depends on what the deal is. If it is for 4 years, he'll only help them.

If he gets a 7 year deal, it will be INSANELY front loaded.

If he takes a 4 year deal its going to be for $20-25 mil per season. The Brewers just can't afford that kind of money and they'll be short at other positions. I'll take a 34 and 35 year old Josh Hamilton on the Brewers making more than 25% of their total payroll.

I don't think the Brewers will get him, period, after what Melvin said.

Isn't that exactly what you would say if you were Bob Melvin and you wanted to sign Hamilton?

Why would he sign a 7 year deal if it was massively frontloaded...

GSU actually hung in there, only lost 63-7. Can't believe they actually scored (97 yard KR for a TD).

That's the only way he'll get it. No one is going to give him $25 million in the final 3 years of his deal.

So, gotta beat 56 points? We could do that.
