This deal makes no sense, especially with Komisarek finally becoming the d-man we always needed (ala Scott Stevens).

Why would we want to give away Pleks and Komo?
How bout this:
TO CHI: Ribeiro, Bulis
TO MTL: Two nets... NEW ones, not used.

The nets in Chicago are hardly ever used.

That would be a good starting point for the discussions. But soon the GM's realize that there are not enough assets being exchanged so they would each have to add.
Habs would also add:
Begin,Bonk,Higgins, Koivu, Kovalev,Markov,Ryder,Souray,Zednick,Rivet Huet.
Hawks would have to add:
Aucoin,Barnaby,Cullimore, Daze,Keith,Khabibulan, Lapointe, Ruutu, Seabrook, Vandermeer,Vrbata
I think it helps both teams.

Right... Let's give a bunch of our best young players for a couple of forwards that couldn't bring their team in the playoffs and a d-man prospect that will be a bust! Believe me, we would regret that trade for a long, long time!
Stupid trade propsal. Is your nickname "peanuts" by any chance?

Maybe if we trade Koivu and Kovalev to the Hawks fast enough (slightly before the other players), we can ask for them in the return?

The Hawks would have to throw in some draft picks in order for the Habs to take on those 2 contracts, I would imagine

Nah... I would prefer trading Gainey and Carbo for Hawks' management, and then I move to Chicago. Sounds like a better trade.

Take Mike Ribeiro out of the package and throw in the Organ from the old Chicago rink and we have a deal.

That one made my afternoon. It could work if we sent them by way of England.
