He was terrible vs Gatineau the other day, I swear it looked like he was aiming for Kielly on that turnover to him (which lead to Kielly's goal). Didn't know he wasn't 100% though.
It was in a Neil Hodge article for the Times and Transcipt. Charbonneau said that they were giving him the week off(Moncton home game) to rest his ankle. He said it was an injury from training camp and that he hasn't been 100% in a single game up to that point(game #12 i believe). They had hoped he'd be 100% following the week of rest he had, but I havn't heard anything since then. That was basically the organization's excuse for his dissapointing play , at least for the first 10-12 games. To be honest, I found he was overrated to a certain extent from day 1. He's a good player and has potential but he can't be compared to previous #1 overall QMJHL picks.
I didn't think he was as good as McDavid. In some preview for the 2015 NHL draft on Sportsnet or TSN , they said it was between those 2 and some guy from the W named Bazel or Bazal or something.

McDavid is a 97' born and Audette is a 96'. Audette is draft eligible in the 2014 NHL Draft , McDavid 2015 NHL Draft.

Audette is a 2014 prospect, whereas McDavid and the kid they mentioned, Mathew Barzal, are 2015 prospects.
They were probably only mentioned together because they were the first overall picks in their respective leagues, but Barzal and McDavid are much better NHL prospects.

This, Audette isn't on the same planet as these 2.
From all the opinions i've been given on Audette (he did not play in Halifax) he does not seem like a "can't miss" prospect. Q scouts had mixed opinions on him and there were teams who did not have him #1 on their lists.
He seems like the type of player (smaller, skilled scorer) who will take a little longer to adjust to the QMJHL, just like Drouin didn't dominate like Mackinnon out of the gates, but has steadily gotten more comfortable using his skills.

He's no Drouin...
People have told me he was their first pick because his father was a partner in the team. There's talk that he wasn't the best player in the draft, so think it was Leveille.

He will come around and be a solid player , just not a superstar like many previous # overall Q picks. I know for a fact that he wasn't the clearcut #1 in the QMJHL draft either , I know for a fact a few teams would have passed on him if they had the #1 pick. Probably a third of the teams would have chosen Alexis Pepin.
