they should start trying to integrate more of our prospects into the team (i.e. the ones who are ready - i'm not talking about rushing people or anything).
as far as "friends" on the team - does brouwer really matter? maybe he was liked (although, not by Q iirc), but presumably there are other likeable people on the team. they can be friends with each other
come to think about it - you don't really hear negative stuff about the personality of any of the players on the team. although maybe i haven't paid enough attention.
Please, no more Brouwer. I don't think those wheels or hands are going to get much better. He still has to solidify a role somehow somewhere. Nice player on paper, but I don't think he'll play to his next contract.
Problem with that argument that the Brouwer fanboys use is he was at 22 games without a goal at that point
And for the record
Frolik outperformed Brouwer this recent playoff
Brouwer 14 games with 2 goals + 2 assists -2 with 19 min TOI
Frolik 4 games with 2 goals + 1 assists +1 with a little over 17 min TOI
I know, I know. That's why I put the laughing face. Brouwer was terrible for us the last year he was in Chicago and became greedy and demanding when he frankly didn't deserve it. Stay away.
I have a feeling with the new cap next year Hawks won't be bringing in anyone with a decent salary.
Well this team has been stocking the prospect pool for a while
Eventually these picks will be fighting for the roster so going and get big $$$ players doesn't make sense especially given how much $$$ the Hawks have tied up in core already
I thought it would have been wise to keep Brouwer until the young players matured and I think he would have signed for less here but it's too late now. It was a good career move for him to go to Washington.

Agreed. The Hawks don't necessarily have to make big moves right now with the prospects we have. A lot of teams would kill to have our depth in the system
