He got Suspended last season for a Racial Slur.. Average NHL prospects dont get signed when they are doing that kind of thing.

Bigos with a GWG and 14 PIM tonight vs Northeastern who was ranked 15th in the nation. Second game of the year as he was out with (I think) a knee injury. Really looks like he wants to break the Merrimack record for PIMs. He is just 40 away, but I would love for him not to break that . He is playing at home tomorrow night, so I will get a chance to see him then.
Zharkov didn't stand out in the first period, but definitely got better as the game went on. First goal was after a brutal rebound from the Knights goalie and Zharkov was in front of the net and put it home. His 2nd goal was a ****ing beauty. Pulled the puck between his legs and went around the dman then deked out the Knights goalie. Shocked the crowd. Still needs to work on his skating.

Wish I could have seen the second goal. He really does have some nice hands.

Does he get a lot of penalties from being on the slow side, or are most physical types of penalties?

Nice to see Rajala coming alive a bit.

Didn't see that game, but usually yes, they are physical penalties. Coach was saying in an interview the other day that he feels he gets penalized for his size a lot. I can't really recall seeing him ever get a tripping or hooking penalty for being out hustled. A lot of them are stupid hit from behind or after the whistle penalties though. Or interference penalty like last night. Which are a common theme with Merrimack for some reason.
Last night he played in the 4-2 win finishing the home and home series. Had two monstrous hits. Northeastern was definitely avoiding him and attacking his pairing's side. Both goals were in the first period on the other side of the ice where it is difficult to see from the student section, but it did not look like he was on the ice for either. Overall, he was solid on D and fairly unnoticeable on offense. Had one slapshot that was not even close to the net. Will be interesting to see how he does offensively this year as our defense is taking over offensively. The game winner was by our captain Jordan Heywood who is second on the team in goals. So he will definitely have chances offensively this year and it will be interesting to see if he can capitalize. Next week is BU, so Bigos will definitely need a big game. They are only a point ahead of BU in the hockey east standings. Still early on in the season, but an important game. Could put them on the national ranks.

I was pretty sure Bunz would be great down in the ECHL, but I'm definitely surprised that Rajala is maintaining any semblance of relevancy. Guess he'll play some games with OKC if he keeps this up.
