Searching for Stamkos, my favorite and the goal of my HUT experience.
What I currently have to offer:
80k pucks
Shea Weber
SOTW Brodeur
Semin
& Seguin
I won't push the envelope and promise sexual favors just yet, but I can do graphic work if we can work out a deal. Youtube backgrounds, desktop backgrounds, things of that nature.
My new team on ps3 is this first line greztky, kurri, kovalchuck, second line is datsyuk, parise, gaborik third line is crosby, malkin, stamkos, forth line is hall, sotw duchene, n sotw eberle. 1st pair dline is sotw weber, n sotw hamuis second line is phaneuf and doughty, third line is keith and karlson and finnaly goalies r quick and loungo this team took me 2 million pucks to make i say 2 million well spent n no i didnt spend real money i just sold my last team and did alot of buying and selling
I simply don't agree, regular packs just don't cut it.
As it stands now the ONLY way to build a competitive team is to work the market non stop (which the majority of people have no time for...) or by getting extremely lucky.
Actually playing the game to earn pucks is completely useless under this current system.
If EA elects to announce that gold premium packs are the "best way to land elite players" then the customer is being led down a huge tunnel of disappointment.
Charging $3.00 for such a return is borderline criminal in my estimation.
Building a competitive team is easy. If you're a decent player you can compete against any all star team, with an average team of your own. And since 84s and a lot of 85s are going pretty cheap, really cheap, actually, you can absolutely build a competitive team without working the market "non stop".

Like I said, I like how rare players are tough to get, but its just ******** what they fill these packs with. I think we can all agree rare injury cards are a piece of ****. I am unbelievably sick of getting them, I mean they are just useless. I dont think rare injury cards need to be replaced with SOTW cards, but at least SOMETHING useful
Im just tired of getting **** players. If 7.5k is too cheap for my 85 plus pack, then raise the price... 10k? 15k? Thats fine, at least you wont feel too ripped off. I mean there are 85's that go for jack ****, like isnt Hanzal or Handzus an 85?
I love opening packs, but I just cannot bring myself to spend any of my current 70k built up on one. Because like HighLifeMan said, there is no possible way to build a team through packs. I have opened plenty of packs and my best player I have gotten is Helm. By now it would have been nice to get a player worth a little more.
But like I said before, its tough to balance
If it were easy to build teams through packs, it'd make it so easy for people to just spend money and get a good team, which defeats the entire purpose of HUT. That would be so lame if someone could just spend 30 bucks on packs and then ice a great team, no matter what.
Played some dude on PS3 who had Ovechkin, Crosby and Gretzky (somehow made a team under 30k salary too )
Was beating him 2-1, where his only goal was 2 minutes in where Ovechkin scored off a weak shot off the right wing that Fleury bobbled into the net
Halfway through the third; I'm outshooting him 2-1 and he suddenly quits. (I got the 3-0 win). He then messages me and calls me a "B" and says all I did all game was glitch.
This was the same dude who kept diving at my goalie and trying to pull that goalie interference BS
It's very easy to build a competitive team without spending a ton of time on the game. I have only bought one pack and in that I got a Myers which I sold for 16k and a lot of the best players In the game are cheap if you avoid the popular players (ie, get Pominville over eberle, booth instead of e. Kane) and are smart with your picks.

THIS!!!!!!!
Pitkanen's stats are basically the same as PK Subban...
Played like 3 guys in a row that just abused speedy players and did backhand forhands shortside every time. They would literally try it every time. I was laughing by the end of the game even though I lost, it was pathetic.
for example just lost again and I can very well blame it on my fail line changes because my defender decided he wants to play a full period by himself. ofcourse he only leaves the ice once hes scored on.... like come on how hard is it to force the players to change when you say so... god dammit EA

Again, I disagree.
The purpose of HUT should be to actually play in games and tournaments in order to build up a strong team over time. In such a system that EA has in place now, that is virtually impossible.
The reason the market fluctuates as much as it does is because of the god awful returns from packs. I can only assume that very few people consistently buy regular packs, and because of this the market goes dry. To solve this problem EA then releases a "rare player pack" which then floods the market for another two weeks.
In all honesty, I think the biggest issue I have with packs is the classifications of rares. Classifying healing cards (and most jerseys...) as rares is absolute lunacy, and EA knows it.

Competitive in what sense? For the average player sure, I can agree with that.
Once you start moving up the leaderboards however and are consistently getting matched up against a team in which has a first line center who is worth more than your entire forward group then you start losing interest real quickly.

I think he's speaking in a casual sense. It was mentioned that this is in regards to people who don't have time to play the market. I'd also file those people into the category of not being leaderboard climbers.
