Per the USHR, Brandon Shea will skate with the EJHL'S South Shore Kings.

Scott Harlow was a teammate of Neil Shea at BC. The South Shore Kings are the same team that produced Charlie Coyle.

Very interesting turn of events!

They have yet to ask his release from Quebec though...

The article says that he practiced with them on Friday and will be in the lineup tomorrow vs the Middlesex Islanders.

I dont know about the release just what the article says. I would post the article but it is a pay site and I dont know the rules with that.

Perhaps he's better off playing close to home, the EJHL isn't the best JR.A league, but he'll regain his confidence there.

Its unfortunate that he left the Quebec league again, he's such a talented hockey player. He probably had home sickness, and its tough living in a place like Quebec especially if you don't know French. He should've stuck with his NCAA commitment IMO.

You can't be too tough on these guys because they are just kids, but in reality but he needs to learn that you can quit when things get hard in life. The NHL only gets harder.

The 'french' reason would be a bit stupid considering his world was the team and the class at the Colisee. There are more english speakers on the team than french. And why would it be an issue for english speakers when it's never an issue for french speakers?

The reason is the other you mentionned, this kid won't commit to work. When it's too tough, he just gives up. He did it twice in 10 months. He won't always get breaks in life. He has no one but himself to blame. He was given many chances by two great organizations and still gave up.

I am in no way disrespecting Quebec, after all I have relatives that live there, I'm speaking from an outsider point of view. It's a lot different than Massachusetts, USA. Not necessarily interacting with people or teammates, but even relaxing and watching your favorite TV shows in a different language. He's not in America, he's in a whole different country. It's a lot tougher for some kids to adjust. Adam Erne on the other hand has been traveling all over and staying in different places since 12 years of age so he's used to it.

Perhaps his life outside the team was a problem ?

Shea played tonight for the South Shore Kings, but it was definitely a game to forget. Kings fell to the Islanders 11-4.
Shea did not record a point.

He didn't have his favorite show on TV, it seems like an even better reason.

Stop trying to find excuses, the kid has no work ethic.

ya a friend told me him erne and the other kid were going to be top line he looked good brandon and seemed fine and happy finally and ready to work.

He needs to light it up cause I expect erne to be in ahl next year if that is an option for tampa.

No, Erne can't play in the AHL next season. It's NHL or QMJHL.

figure he is stuck than in quebec for two years than.

Unless like bugsy gets injured again half this year. If that happens can see us letting him go and trying to get get panik and erne into his role.

I doubt it though think we keep malone this year and next.

Remember him being highly thought of, so he's back with Quebec now...anyone got any insight on what will become of him?

From what I hear Shea' attendance at Carolina's rookie camp really has him motivated. He's trained very hard in the off season and is committed to Quebec and hockey. He definitely has potential but he'll have some catching up to do development wise.

Hopefully he has a good year. Does anyone know the conditions on the pick that Moncton received that could change it to a first? If he keeps scoring that pick may end up changing from the third in 2015 Moncton received. He would definitely help solidifies Quebec's top two lines if they do get the Memorial cup next year

I can't speak to his motivations, but he looked horrible at rookie camp. It got a little uncomfortable to watch after multiple drills came to a halt due to his losing the puck, missing passes, and generally looking like a fish out of water. I've never seen a kid so far over his head among the rookies.

I'm sure he was. He could have had two seasons of major junior under his belt but instead played in the EJHL which is quite the jump.

good for him, glad to see his head "might" be on straight.

hope he continues to play well and shows up for an entire season.

Whenever somebody posts something new about him I have a fear that something else is up with him or get scared he left the team again.
